Where Kevin Federline's Relationship With Britney Spears Stands 15 Years After Split

Where Kevin Federline's Relationship With Britney Spears Stands 15 Years After Split

  • Toxic? Kevin Federline's wishes for Britney Spears are far from it. Amid the pop star's conservatorship battle, here's where the father of her sons stands.
  • Watch: What Kevin Federline Wants for Ex Britney Spears

While Britney Spears fights to cut legal ties with one man in her life, here’s where another—her ex-husband Kevin Federline—stands.

As fans well know, the pop icon was married to Federline, formerly her backup dancer, for two years before she filed for divorce in November 2006. By that point, they were parents to sons Sean Preston, now 15, and Jayden James, currently 14. Federline’s attorney Mark Kaplan confirmed in February that the mom and dad continue to share custody with Federline taking the kids 70 percent of the time.

Of course, their short, but eventful union was more than a decade ago. Now with Spears’ bombshell testimony regarding her long-running conservatorship making headlines, Kaplan shared where the father of six stands in the situation dominating headlines.

“They share a custodial relationship with the kids and nothing has changed as far as he’s concerned because the conservatorship is still in place,” the powerhouse lawyer explained to E! News. “If something changes in that regard, there will have to be some further dialogue about what the status quo is at that time.”

According to Kaplan, Federline wishes his ex well, which would ultimately benefit their relationship as co-parents.

“Kevin wants her to be happy and healthy because she deserves that and that’s the best possible way for the custodial parent to be exercising custody,” Kaplan said. “So he hopes that she is taking actions that promote her happiness and well-being because that’s what would best serve her role as a custodial parent.”

Though Spears finally got to have her voice heard through the candid and deeply personal testimony she shared, peace remains elusive for the 39-year-old star, a longtime target of the paparazzi.

While recently vacationing in Hawaii after the hearing, the performer sounded off agains the photographers on social media and accused them of misrepresenting her in photographs.

“So being here in Maui is pretty crazy now,” the singer wrote, “the paps know where I am and it’s really not fun !!!! It’s pretty hard going anywhere cause these silly faces keep popping up to take my picture [camera and rolling-eyes emoji] … but not only do they take my picture … they distort my body and mess with the image and it’s embarrassing [grimacing, flushed and upside-down face emojis] !!!!!”

She continued, “I know my body is not perfect but I definitely do NOT look like how they portray me. It’s rude and it’s mean so paps kindly F–K YOU AND F–K OFF [kiss emojis] !!!!”

Travis Barker Says He "Might Fly Again" 12 Years After Deadly Plane Crash

Travis Barker Says He "Might Fly Again" 12 Years After Deadly Plane Crash

  • Travis Barker has signaled he is ready to get back on a plane after surviving a deadly 2008 crash that killed four people and injured his friend, DJ AM.

Travis Barker is considering air travel again, more than 12 years after surviving a deadly plane crash.

In September 2008, the now-45-year-old Blink-182 drummer, who already had a fear of flying, boarded a private plane in South Carolina to head to the Los Angeles area. The small jet overran the runway and hit an embankment, bursting into flames. Travis and friend Adam “DJ AM” Goldstein escaped through an emergency exit. They were the only ones to survive the crash and suffered severe burns. The remaining four people, including two more of the drummer’s friends, died.

On Friday, June 25, Travis tweeted, randomly, “I might fly again,” adding a plane emoji.

The rocker has not flown since the crash. He takes buses to get to concerts in North America and has since the accident traveled on cruise ships a few times to join Blink-182 on tour in Europe.

Travis was hospitalized for three months following the crash and treated for third-degree burns on 65 percent of his body. With his body engulfed in flames from burning jet fuel, Travis sprinted across a highway on fire. DJ AM helped put out the flames with the shirt off his own back, Men’s Health reported.

“The plane’s on fire and my hands are on fire so I unbuckle my seat belt and I jump right into the jet, which holds all the fuel. I basically ignite my whole body in fire. I’m so soaked in jet fuel, there’s nothing I can do to put the fire out,” Travis told Good Morning America in 2015. “I’m completely nude at this point…I’m running, grabbing my testicles, my genitals, because, I don’t know why, and then we realize, you know, we’re out of the plane and…the plane explodes.”

Barker underwent 26 surgeries and multiple skin grafts to treat his burns. He remains the sole survivor of the crash. Less than a year later, DJ AM, who also suffered severe burns in the accident, died from a drug overdose at age 36.

Travis also developed Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder after the plane crash, and underwent therapy. In May, the drummer debuted new tattoos that read “Survivor’s” and “Guilt.” That is also the name of a mixtape Wisconsin-based artist KennyHoopla recently released that features Travis.

Also in May, Men’s Health published an interview with Travis, in which he spoke about his lasting trauma, saying that if he “saw a plane [in the sky],” he “was determined it was going to crash.” In his interview, Travis also expressed hope of flying again.

“I have to,” he said. “I want to make the choice to try and overcome it.”

Travis, father to son Landon, 17, and Alabama, 15, and who also helped raise stepdaughter Atiana De La Hoya, 22, also told the magazine, “If I do it, and the angels above help me in my travels and keep me safe, I would like to come back and [tell my children], ‘Hey, I just flew here, and then I flew home. And everything was fine.’ I have to tell them, because I almost left them.”

The rocker added, “That’s a perfect day.”

Chris Crocker Weighs in on Britney Spears' Turmoil 13 Years After "Leave Britney Alone" Video

Chris Crocker Weighs in on Britney Spears' Turmoil 13 Years After "Leave Britney Alone" Video

  • More than 13 years after going viral with the "Leave Britney Alone" YouTube video, Chris Crocker spoke out about Britney Spears' conservatorship battle after she made her first public statement on it.
  • Chris Crocker once called on people to leave Britney Spears alone. Now, more than 13 years later, the influencer is happy the singer’s voice is finally being heard.

At a virtual hearing on Wednesday, June 23, the pop star read a lengthy statement by phone calling her 13-year-long court-approved conservatorship “abusive” and “stupid” and requesting that it come to an end without her being evaluated by a therapist. It marked Britney’s first public statement about the arrangement, which was first put in place in 2008, after she was hospitalized and received psychiatric treatment, and comes amid an ongoing court battle to remove her father Jamie Spears from his position as joint conservator of her financial and medical affairs.

In September 2007, months after Britney first showed signs of personal turmoil in public and after she was heavily criticized for what was expected to be a comeback performance at the MTV VMAs, a 19-year-old Chris tearfully defended the singer in what would later become one of the first viral YouTube videos. Following the star’s bombshell statement on Wednesday, the influencer, now 33, weighed in on her current situation.

“I don’t feel it’s my place to speak on it,” Chris said in a TikTok video. “I feel like today is about Britney being able to be heard and what she wants to say and her getting her freedom and her happiness back.”

The influencer continued, “It’s not about what I or anyone else has to say. It’s about Britney’s voice being heard and that’s what I’m so happy about, is she gets to be heard. No one has to speak for her and I think all we want is for Britney’s voice to be heard and for her to have her freedoms, because that’s what she deserves.”

At Wednesday’s hearing, Britney said, regarding her life under conservatorship, “I’ve been in shock. I am traumatized, you know, fake it till you make it, but now I’m telling you the truth, OK, I’m not happy. I can’t sleep. I’m so angry. It’s insane. And I’m depressed. I cry every day.”

She continued, “I just want my life back and it’s been 13 years and it’s enough. It’s been a long time since I’ve owned my money, and it’s my wish, my dream for all of this to end without being tested again. It makes no sense whatsoever for the state of California to sit back and literally watch me with their own two eyes make a living for so many people and take so many people, trucks and buses, on the road with me and be told I’m not good enough. But I’m great at what I do. And I do not need people to control what I do and it’s enough, it makes no sense at all.”

Also at Wednesday’s court hearing, Jamie’s attorney read a statement from him that said, “Mr. Spears is sorry to see his daughter suffering and in so much pain. Mr. Spears loves his daughter and misses her very much.”

Chris’ “Leave Britney Alone” video also became a topic of discussion after Britney made her statement, especially after audio from the phone call leaked online. “We all owe the LEAVE BRITNEY ALONE guy an apology; he was right and we were jerks,” one Twitter user wrote. Another responded, “Are you serious? Everyone loves @ChrisCrocker Also, it was satire. Weird that ppl don’t know that.” Chris replied, “No it wasn’t.”

“I made the ‘Live Britney Alone’ video because I felt like people should leave you alone,” Chris said on Instagram, “and I feel like now, hopefully the conservatorship ends and she can live her life the way she f–king wants to live it.”

Rihanna Covers Up Her and Drake's Matching Shark Tattoo 5 Years After Romance

Rihanna Covers Up Her and Drake's Matching Shark Tattoo 5 Years After Romance

  • Rihanna's shark tattoo that she got in 2016, which matches one her then-boyfriend Drake got at the time, appears to be no more, as seen in a recent photo.
  • Watch: Rihanna and A$AP Rocky Pack on PDA at NYC Barcade

Rihanna is making quite the splash with new body art that appears to be covering up a once-meaningful tattoo.

After she was photographed during a PDA-packed night out with boyfriend A$AP Rocky in New York City, fans noticed the 33-year-old pop star seems to have covered up the camouflage shark tattoo she got done in 2016. A close-up look at the new ink on her left ankle can be seen below.

Back then, a source had confirmed to E! News that the “Disturbia” singer and then-boyfriend Drake both got matching shark artwork, which had “special significance” for the pair. Drake got his shark inked on the inside of his arm.

In September 2016, famed artist Bang Bang shared an Instagram photo of Rihanna’s tattoo after he had created the piece. “Camo shark for my dear friend @badgalriri,” the artist captioned his post at the time.

While the marine life images were forever, the romance wasn’t meant to be and had ended not long after the stars got the tattoos. During a sit-down with Vogue for the magazine’s June 2018 issue, Rihanna shared that she and the 34-year-old “Nice for What” vocalist were no longer in contact

“We don’t have a friendship now, but we’re not enemies either,” she revealed back then. “It is what it is.”

Luckily, Rihanna and A$AP Rocky, who were first seen spending time together in early 2020, are stronger than ever. An eyewitness told E! News that the couple spent all night by each other’s sides during their June 23 date at an NYC arcade bar.

“They seemed happy and in love,” the onlooker shared. “They had a great time and showed each other plenty of affection on a fun night out.”

Murder charges filed against Simone Biles‘ brother have been dismissed.

According to court documents obtained by E! News, a judge acquitted Tevin Biles-Thomas of murder, voluntary manslaughter and additional charges during a hearing held in Cuyahoga County, Ohio on Tuesday, June 15.

“We have nothing but gratitude to the court for their attention to detail and making a correct decision in the face of absolute tragedy,” Tevin’s attorney Joseph Patituce shared with E! News. “Tevin Biles-Thomas, his innocence was vindicated yesterday in court after being tried twice for this offense. We demonstrated there’s absolutely no evidence that he committed any crime let alone acted improperly.”

A trial was held last month and ended with a mistrial, prompting the defense to file a motion for judgment of acquittal.

According to CNN, a person in the gallery charged towards Tevin following the judge’s latest ruling. The individual was ultimately stopped by sheriff’s deputies.

“This was a horrible tragedy, three families lost three family members and you know, absolutely horrific. So, we understand emotions were running high,” Joe told the network on June 15. “But today, Tevin Biles was vindicated, what he’s waited to get for the last two and half years.”

Tevin’s attorney added that his client has maintained his innocence for so long “because he is frankly innocent of these charges and today, we were able to see that the state had absolutely no evidence that he was guilty of this offense.”

Back in August 2019, Simone’s older brother was arrested and charged with murder following three fatal shootings on New Year’s Eve. He would ultimately plead not guilty to murder among other charges.

While Simone has tried to focus on her Olympic goals, the gymnast previously spoke out on the case in a rare social media post.

“Still having a hard time processing last week’s news,” she shared on social media back in September 2019. “My heart aches for everyone involved, especially for the victims and their families. There is nothing that I can say that will heal anyone’s pain, but I do want to express my sincere condolences to everyone affected by this terrible tragedy.”

Tevin and Simone grew up together in Ohio and were adopted by their grandparents, who Simone refers to as mom and dad.

  • Bachelor alum Vienna Girardi announced that she's expecting a little one, while also sharing a heartwarming tribute to her late twins.
  • Baby on board!

Bachelor Nation star Vienna Girardi announced she’s expecting, which comes a little over three years after she opened up about suffering a pregnancy loss while she was carrying twin girls. The reality TV personality, who earned Jake Pavelka‘s final rose on the 14th season of the ABC dating series, took to Instagram to share the baby news.

“Heaven’s [rainbow emoji] and Mommy’s [red heart]!” she began her caption on Sunday, June 13. “I can’t wait to meet you. I have waited my whole life for you!”

The Bachelor alum also paid tribute to her late twins by sharing a photo of her baby’s onesie, which read, “Handpicked for Earth by my sisters, Gia and Mia in heaven.”

At this time, Vienna is keeping details of her little one under wraps—like how far along she is in her pregnancy, her baby’s expected due date and more. However, the 35-year-old entrepreneur did reveal that she and her BFF and former Miss United States winner, Rachael Todd, are on this pregnancy journey together.

In another Instagram Story, Vienna posted a colorful sign that read, “Rainbow Baby.”

Back in August 2017, the Florida-based realtor opened up about losing her twins at 18 weeks.

“On Aug 3rd, I went in for an ultra sound bc the Perinatologist notice one of my twins had more fluids than the other which was the first sign of TTTS (Twin to Twin Transfusion Syndrome) this is when one twin takes more nutrients than the other,” she shared at the time. “They said that it did look like it had improved over the last week though. Unfortunately, that was not the case and that evening my water broke due to the amniotic sacs rupturing. I spent the next 2 days in the hospital trying everything to save them.”

Vienna also noted that she almost lost her life, explaining, “The doctors had warned me that if I did not go into labor and deliver the babies, I was taking the chance of risking my own life and causing an infection in my uterus but they could not survive at only 18 weeks. I did everything to save them but their hearts stopped beating on day two which is also when I went into a septic shock with 104 fever.”
