The Internet is raising eyebrows about Iggy Azalea‘s new look in her most recent music video.

The 31-year-old Australian rapper, who is typically blonde, sports black hair and heavy makeup in “I Am the Stripclub,” released on Thursday, July 1. After the video hit YouTube, many viewers accused Iggy of “Blackfishing”—or using makeup to appear as though she were of African-American descent.

“I don’t care,” the rapper tweeted on Friday, July 2, in response to a fan who asked her to respond to the backlash. “F–k those ppl babe lol.”

She continued, “I’m the same color as I always am, just in a dimly lit room with red lights. It’s the same makeup from every other part of the video just with a Smokey eye and different wig. Just ignore them, who cares? Let em talk.”

Iggy later tweeted, “I can’t care about something that ridiculous and baseless. I’m wearing a shade 6 in armarni foundation, it’s the same shade I’ve worn for the last 3 years.
It’s the same shade in every music video since sally Walker. Suddenly I wear a black wig in a club scene & its an issue.”

The rapper’s makeup artist Eros also addressed the controversy, defending the star.

He wrote, “She literally wore the same face makeup during every scene of the video… i would know, i did it. Its a shade 6 from armani luminous silk (a light/medium olive undertoned shade if you’re curious).”

Fans also spoke out in support of the rapper. “Everyone in the shot is cast in shadow and Iggy herself is visibly much lighter than everyone there. And she has black hair,” wrote one user. “I don’t know what people expect?”

“Exactly,” Iggy replied. “I’m the same color as the other white dancer in the room and not anywhere close to the color of the black dancers. People will say ANYthing to try and cancel me and it’s actually kinda funny to watch people so worked up over a black wig and Smokey eye.”

Chris Crocker Weighs in on Britney Spears' Turmoil 13 Years After "Leave Britney Alone" Video

Chris Crocker Weighs in on Britney Spears' Turmoil 13 Years After "Leave Britney Alone" Video

  • More than 13 years after going viral with the "Leave Britney Alone" YouTube video, Chris Crocker spoke out about Britney Spears' conservatorship battle after she made her first public statement on it.
  • Chris Crocker once called on people to leave Britney Spears alone. Now, more than 13 years later, the influencer is happy the singer’s voice is finally being heard.

At a virtual hearing on Wednesday, June 23, the pop star read a lengthy statement by phone calling her 13-year-long court-approved conservatorship “abusive” and “stupid” and requesting that it come to an end without her being evaluated by a therapist. It marked Britney’s first public statement about the arrangement, which was first put in place in 2008, after she was hospitalized and received psychiatric treatment, and comes amid an ongoing court battle to remove her father Jamie Spears from his position as joint conservator of her financial and medical affairs.

In September 2007, months after Britney first showed signs of personal turmoil in public and after she was heavily criticized for what was expected to be a comeback performance at the MTV VMAs, a 19-year-old Chris tearfully defended the singer in what would later become one of the first viral YouTube videos. Following the star’s bombshell statement on Wednesday, the influencer, now 33, weighed in on her current situation.

“I don’t feel it’s my place to speak on it,” Chris said in a TikTok video. “I feel like today is about Britney being able to be heard and what she wants to say and her getting her freedom and her happiness back.”

The influencer continued, “It’s not about what I or anyone else has to say. It’s about Britney’s voice being heard and that’s what I’m so happy about, is she gets to be heard. No one has to speak for her and I think all we want is for Britney’s voice to be heard and for her to have her freedoms, because that’s what she deserves.”

At Wednesday’s hearing, Britney said, regarding her life under conservatorship, “I’ve been in shock. I am traumatized, you know, fake it till you make it, but now I’m telling you the truth, OK, I’m not happy. I can’t sleep. I’m so angry. It’s insane. And I’m depressed. I cry every day.”

She continued, “I just want my life back and it’s been 13 years and it’s enough. It’s been a long time since I’ve owned my money, and it’s my wish, my dream for all of this to end without being tested again. It makes no sense whatsoever for the state of California to sit back and literally watch me with their own two eyes make a living for so many people and take so many people, trucks and buses, on the road with me and be told I’m not good enough. But I’m great at what I do. And I do not need people to control what I do and it’s enough, it makes no sense at all.”

Also at Wednesday’s court hearing, Jamie’s attorney read a statement from him that said, “Mr. Spears is sorry to see his daughter suffering and in so much pain. Mr. Spears loves his daughter and misses her very much.”

Chris’ “Leave Britney Alone” video also became a topic of discussion after Britney made her statement, especially after audio from the phone call leaked online. “We all owe the LEAVE BRITNEY ALONE guy an apology; he was right and we were jerks,” one Twitter user wrote. Another responded, “Are you serious? Everyone loves @ChrisCrocker Also, it was satire. Weird that ppl don’t know that.” Chris replied, “No it wasn’t.”

“I made the ‘Live Britney Alone’ video because I felt like people should leave you alone,” Chris said on Instagram, “and I feel like now, hopefully the conservatorship ends and she can live her life the way she f–king wants to live it.”

Jessica Chastain Proves She’s “F—kin Sick” of the Bryce Dallas Howard Comparisons in Hilarious Video

Jessica Chastain Proves She’s “F—kin Sick” of the Bryce Dallas Howard Comparisons in Hilarious Video

  • After years of being mistaken for fellow actress Bryce Dallas Howard, Jessica Chastain showed her sense of humor by poking fun at the comparisons.

“This isn’t the Parent Trap, y’all.”

Jessica Chastain recently made a must-see TikTok about constantly being mistaken for Bryce Dallas Howard and the result is hilarious.

The Zero Dark Thirty actress made a short video singing along to the popular TikTok song, “Sick of It.” While mouthing the lyrics “I’m f—kin’ sick of it,” her caption read, “When you spend 20 years building a career and they still think you work at Jurassic Park.”

The funny caption is a nod to her eerie resemblance to actress Bryce Dallas Howard, who has starred in the Jurassic Park film installments, and coincidentally also co-starred with her in The Help.

She also cleverly captioned the post, “This isn’t the Parent Trap, y’all.”

The Interstellar actress also ended the video with a huge grin—proving that the clip is just a friendly reminder for us all.

The uncanny look-alike comparison between the two is far from new. After a YouTube musical about the Jessica-Bryce comparison (only for Bryce to later post her own epic response video) went viral in 2015, the stars connected and agreed that they “need to use this power for good, and do a movie together playing sisters.”

And not only are audiences sometimes subject to the mix-up, but even family doesn’t get it quite right. Even director Ron Howard once mistook Jessica for his own daughter, Bryce.

Jessica told AP in 2019 that the mishap took place at an Apple Store, sharing, “I was, like, walking by, I was like, ‘Oh, that’s Ron Howard.’ And then my friend was with me [and] said he turned to someone, he goes, ‘I think I just saw Bryce.’ We look so much alike.”

Bryce later confirmed that the story was in fact, true in an interview with Entertainment Tonight, saying her dad was “shook. He really was.”

“At first he was like, ‘You really look so much alike.’ And I mean, obviously, I’m incredibly flattered, so it’s great,” she continued. “Although something is wrong when people stop mistaking me for her. I’ll be like, ‘Gotta get it together. I mean, but we do resemble one another. I love it.”

Billie Eilish Avoids Wardrobe Malfunction in Sassy BehindtheScenes Moment From "Lost Cause" Music Video

Billie Eilish Avoids Wardrobe Malfunction in Sassy BehindtheScenes Moment From "Lost Cause" Music Video

  • Billie Eilish took her TikTok followers behind the scenes of her "Lost Cause" music video, in which she and dancers have their own pajama party.
  • Watch: Billie Eilish Ushers a New Era in “Lost Cause” Music Video

Billie Eilish is showing her followers what it’s like to dance and sing while wearing nothing but silk pajamas, and it doesn’t look easy.

In new behind-the-scenes footage from her “Lost Cause” music video, the 19-year-old artist shows how she and her backup dancers had to go from kneeling on the floor to standing to jumping around, all while keeping your top securely in place. Sure, it sounds easy, but doing it with composure and grace is definitely not.

As Billie stood up in the video, a caption reads, “t-tties was falling out.”

Indeed, Billie’s chest was at risk of exposure as she and her backup group were twerking and moving with the music, but the teen smartly used a few emojis to cover up. It also helped that she had an oversized brown puffer jacket to pull on during the riskier moves.

Of course, none of this was included in the actual music video, where she and friends dance to the song in loungewear as they have the ultimate sleepover.

If viewers found themselves transported back to their teenage days, when all one did is eat junk food and mess around with friends, there’s a reason. The 19-year-old Grammy winner self-directed the entire video.

She wrote on Instagram, “We had the time of our lives being hot & shooting this heeheeeeeehee. ENJOY LOL.”

In a separate post, she added that the music video is by far one of her “favorites,” and it’s not hard to see why.

Her sophomore album Happier Than Ever hasn’t even come out yet and it’s clear this is a swift departure from her previous work.

For the 2019 album When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go, the teen went for a noticeably darker look with black outfits and neon green highlights. But the L.A. native dyed her hair platinum blonde after attending the 2021 Grammys and is now wearing softer hues like beige and blue.

She unveiled the transformation for British Vogue‘s June issue, where she covered the magazine in pin-up attire. Billie admitted to the magazine, “I’ve literally never done anything in this realm at all. Y’know, besides when I’m alone and s–t.”

She added that she previously covered up because of insecurities, but now she wants to embrace her femininity in a way she didn’t feel comfortable before.

“Suddenly you’re a hypocrite if you want to show your skin, and you’re easy and you’re a slut and you’re a whore. If I am, then I’m proud,” she stated. “Me and all the girls are hoes, and f–k it, y’know? Let’s turn it around and be empowered in that. Showing your body and showing your skin—or not—should not take any respect away from you.”
