It’s never easy being the boss.

In an exclusive chat with E! News, Below Deck Mediterranean‘s Katie Flood, who is the season six chief stewardess, opened up about her interior crew on Lady Michelle, including the drama fans can expect from the new episodes. For those who may’ve missed it, the season six trailer teased plenty of push back from Katie’s team.

Specifically, we saw the chief stew facing off with one of her stewardesses, named Lexi Wilson. In the footage, Katie snapped, “Right now, I’m pissed off with you.”

Yet, as Lexi informed Katie in the trailer, she did not care. “I’m like, leaving,” she said before noting on the phone, “Hey, mom. I’m quitting this boat.”

Although Katie didn’t give too much away about the drama, she did acknowledge that, in the yachting industry, “s–t happens,” adding, “That’s why there’s a show about it.”

As she continued, the New Zealand yachtie reminded us that the job required people with “different personalities,” who have never met, to work together, noting, “It’s like, we’re still learning about each other, still figuring how to work together. In what world would that ever run completely smoothly?”

Katie said it was “impossible” to avoid any bumps in this job, describing the situation as “a navigational process.”

Thankfully, Katie did find an ally in fellow department head, Malia White. And it seems the chief stew and the returning bosun built a great friendship over the season as Katie revealed that she “would have not survived” without Malia.

“She is incredible, she is amazing at her job,” she said of her co-star. “And, you know, I think we worked really well together, which helped blend in the rest of the crew. There wasn’t really [adversity] between us and deck.”

The chief stew further praised Malia for her ability to wrangle the crew and to get them to work as a team. “I think together, we made that happen,” she continued. “And, you know, she saved my ass a lot of the time. You’ll see what I’m talking about. I could’ve not done the season without her.”

Later on, Katie made it clear that there is plenty of drama to expect during season six. Namely, she credited her upcoming “emotional moments” on TV to the pressures that come with being chief stew.

“I sure am not gonna enjoy watching myself cry on TV, I know my mom’s not gonna like that,” she elaborated. “I talk about it on the show, I do struggle with anxiety, and that was a really hard time for me, what I was going through at that particular time.”

While Katie said she isn’t looking forward to reliving those intense moments, she believes viewers “will be able to relate to” them.

Below Deck Mediterranean premieres Monday, June 28 at 9 p.m. on Bravo. All new episodes will be available on Peacock one week early, starting June 21.

    Rough seas ahead?

In an exclusive chat with E! News, Captain Sandy Yawn opened up about the new season of Below Deck Mediterranean, including her confrontation with bosun Malia White. For those who may’ve missed it, the season six trailer featured Malia having a heated conversation with her mentor.

Specifically, after not filing an incident report, the seasoned yachtie appeared to receive a talking to by Captain Sandy. Malia defended in the trailer, “I’m not a chief officer.”

“I don’t give a f–k,” the displeased captain snapped back. “You should’ve come to me that he was hurt.”

While the scene didn’t look promising for the captain and her bosun, Sandy assured us that she and Malia are totally cool now. “Oh, Malia and I are fine,” she told E! News. “We just have to wait and see what happens, but, you know, there are times, even though you’re leading people, you get pissed.”

Shedding light on the drama, the captain continued, “One of the things that really upset me is when people don’t take responsibility and they shrug it.”

Outside of this situation, Captain Sandy praised Malia for being solid at her job. “Malia is an awesome crew member,” she expressed. “She does her job. You know, she always pitches in, you see her washing the dishes. Like, she’s a team player. She’s a real yachtie.”

As for Malia’s captain goals? Sandy noted that the bosun has “a lot to learn still,” but is well on her way to earning more stripes, adding, “She’s learning and she’s doing the work.”

In regard to the rest of the crew, the captain praised her season six team for following all of the COVID-19 safety protocols while filming. According to Captain Sandy, they were able to pull off this new season thanks to production “creating a bubble.”

“One of the things I really loved is the crew actually followed those protocols,” she concluded, “because, you know, some people are very resistant in that. So, that was awesome.”

Revisiting One Direction’s Most OMG Moments

As fans may remember (JK, 1D fans, of course you remember!), Liam and Harry, along with Zayn Malik, Niall Horan and Louis Tomlinson, formed the super popular boy band in London in 2010. Since their debut, the UK X Factor finalists have won over 200 awards and gained countless adoring fans in the process, remaining one of the most popular singing groups in recent memory six years after they stopped performing.

All five group members decided to each pursue solo projects by 2016 (with Zayn departing in 2015), and Liam seemed to reference their time apart in the clip, saying, “It’s hard in this position sometimes, you’re watching people’s stories from afar that you used to know so well.”

“That can be difficult when you feel like a piece of you is missing with them at that point I guess,” he continued. “And I think we’ve all felt this at different times, me and the boys.”

Reflecting on their success as individuals, Liam shared, “It’s almost like missing a very dear friend a lot of the time, but everyone’s so busy and you’ve got to be understanding of all that.”

And yet, knowing well aware the number one question on every single fan’s mind, Liam hinted at a potential reunion with the gang. “I’d love for us to get in a room at some point,” he shared. “I think it would be the best thing.”

“We’ve all said it outside but we’ve just not said it to each other,” Liam quipped. “There’s a song in there somewhere. Somebody write that down!”

Who knows? Maybe we should be bracing ourselves for another “Best Song Ever!”

  • In an exclusive chat with E! News, Below Deck Sailing Yacht's Alli Dore opened up about confronting Gary King and her new relationship.

Batten down the hatches because drama is a brewing on Below Deck Sailing Yacht.

In an exclusive chat with E! News, season two star Alli Dore teased her upcoming confrontation with former fling Gary King on the Bravo hit. As fans of the show well know, the preview for the June 7 episode showed the stewardess exploding at the first mate for flirting with a topless Sydney Zaruba. Why? Well, because Alli had called things off with Gary out of respect for Sydney’s feelings, only to have her own feelings disrespected.

“The episode where I snap is not my finest moment,” she told E! News. “And I feel really disappointed in that. It was just an emotional experience. From the very start, it was this push and pull, this game-playing, these mind games, and I guess I fell for it. I sort of believed that things were different to what they actually turned out to be.”

On how she was feeling leading into the fight, Alli said she “felt a little foolish,” which caused her to get emotional. Understandably, the teaser of this fight was “definitely hard to watch” for the Australian yachtie.

Still, after all the drama, Alli believes that she and Gary had real feelings for one another. “I genuinely really liked him, and I know he genuinely really liked me,” she shared. “In the ‘breakup,’ I say in quotations, that you see that.”

Regarding her decision to halt their fling, Alli defended that was “a fair negotiation,” especially since she had just learned about Gary and Sydney’s previous one-night stand. “But he was quite gutted,” she added. “And it definitely showed that his feelings were true.”

Nonetheless, Alli said she was “absolutely surprised” by Gary’s post-split behavior. “I didn’t think that I deserved that type of disrespect, especially when I’m in a situation where I’m trying to respect someone else,” she sounded off. “And then, on top of it, you’re gonna use her to get back at me out of spite. The whole thing was quite shocking to me.”

Clearly, Alli and Gary did not come back from this situation as the stewardess is now happily dating someone else. On her relationship with boyfriend Benny Thompson, Alli said she’s “never been loved like this.”

Per the Bravo personality, after being friends for years, the twosome decided to give it a go romantically—and now they’re moving in together. “Fundamentally, we are just such a perfect fit for each other,” she revealed. “So, I’m really excited for our future together. We’re very serious. We’re just about to move in together.”

    We love to hear it!

For more of Alli, be sure to catch Below Deck Sailing Yacht when it airs Mondays at 9 p.m. on Bravo.
