Hilarie Burton’s Husband Jeffrey Dean Morgan Almost Played This One Tree Hill Character

Hilarie Burton’s Husband Jeffrey Dean Morgan Almost Played This One Tree Hill Character

  • Hilarie Burton and Jeffrey Dean Morgan have been together for over a decade, but they also could’ve acted together in her hit show One Tree Hill.
  • Hilarie Burton could have been co-stars with her now-husband Jeffrey Dean Morgan on One Tree Hill years before they married, she recently revealed.

The actress, who played Petyon Sawyer on the hit teen drama for six seasons, shared that she just found out about this missed opportunity.

“You know when I met Jeff, he was like, ‘Oh I auditioned for that show,'” she spilled on the Drama Queens podcast on the June 28 episode. “‘And I was like, wait, what?’ And my husband, Jeffrey, auditioned for [Craig] Sheffer‘s part.”

Sheffer played mechanic Keith Scott for the first few seasons of One Tree Hill.

“He was like, ‘Yeah, you know I liked the whole gritty garage guy’… you know that edgy thing,” Burton explained her husband said.

“Had El Jefe shown up in those tight jeans that Jeff was wearing, yeah I would have definitely had kids earlier,” she joked. “That’s a totally different behind-the-scenes scandal.”

Burton and Morgan have two children together: Augustus Morgan, 11, and George Virginia Morgan, 3. The married couple tied the knot in 2019, despite it being incorrectly reported that they wed in 2014.

Burton shared an Instagram post on Oct. 7, 2019 following their wedding weekend.

She captioned the post, “I love you Jeffrey. I love our intimate group of friends and family who joined us. I love the various circles of loved ones who have supported us over the years. It was private and magical and everything I dreamed. So yeah. I’m Mrs. Morgan.”

Chrissy Teigen and John Legend Speak Out Against Michael Costello After "Attack" on Her Character

Chrissy Teigen and John Legend Speak Out Against Michael Costello After "Attack" on Her Character

  • John Legend and Chrissy Teigen speak out against Michael Costello, saying he "fabricated" screenshots to "demean her name and reputation."
  • Watch: Chrissy Teigen May Need “A Court of Law” in Michael Costello Drama

John Legend is coming to the defense of wife Chrissy Teigen.

In an earlier report, one of Chrissy’s team members said that the screenshots Michael Costello recently shared—which accuse the model of cyberbullying in 2014—were inauthentic. In response, the “All of Me” singer is speaking out in support of his wife.

“Chrissy apologized for her public tweets, but after her apology, Mr. Costello fabricated a DM exchange between them,” he tweeted. “This exchange was made up, completely fake, never happened.”

“Honestly, I don’t know why anyone would fake DMs to insert themselves in this narrative but that’s what happened,” he continued. “I encourage everyone who breathlessly spread this lie to keep the same energy when they correct the record.”

Shortly after John spoke out, Chrissy released a new statement written on her behalf, which she captioned, “No idea what the f–k michael costello is doing.”

“Michael, you are now causing actual pain to people who are trying to better themselves. Enough. Or this WILL go further. Not here, but an actual court of law. And every dime we win will go to an anti bullying charity focused on turning this s–t show into a positive,” Chrissy continued, adding that she has “some places I’ve been attending if you’d like the connects.”

In the statement written on her behalf, it said, “Chrissy is completely surprised and disappointed by Michael Costello’s recent attack, which include fictional ‘screenshots’ from 2014 of supposed private messages that Chrissy did not send,” before adding Chrissy “has never conspired with anyone to harm his career.”

Chrissy’s team additionally said she and Michael had a “cordial” relationship in recent years, citing Michael’s past Instagram comments on her posts.

The statement then outlined different aspects of Michael’s screenshots, which allegedly prove the images were doctored, as “recent media investigations” concluded.

“Chrissy has acknowledged her past behavior and the pain she has caused, but she will not stand for anyone spreading false accusations to further demean her name and reputation,” her team continued. “Chrissy will continue to do the work she needs to do to be the best person she can be. She hopes Michael Costello can do the same.”

The statement concluded, “Chrissy has every right to correct the record and defend her name. She is not interested in making Mr. Costello the target of harassment or abuse from anyone claiming to support her. She hopes this can be a time of honest reflection and healing.”

The latest comments from Chrissy and John comes days after the musician told a photographer that Chrissy was doing “great” amongst the controversy she has been facing surrounding resurfaced posts, which accused the star of cyberbullying.

In an article published by Business Insider on June 17, Teigen’s team member said that the Instagram direct messages shared by the designer on June 14 are reportedly “fake” and alleged inconsistencies were listed to support the claim. Costello’s rep has since denied this in a statement to E! News.

In Costello’s original statement, the designer explained that, in 2014, he reportedly received a public comment from Teigen on Instagram, accusing him of “being a racist.”

“She apparently formed her own opinion of me based on a photoshopped comment floating around the internet,” he alleged. “When I reached out to Chrissy Teigen to communicate that I was the victim of a vindictive cyber slander, and that everything she thought I was is not who I am, she told me that my career was over and that all my doors will be shut from there on.”

According to Business Insider, examples of the alleged inconsistencies within the direct messages include a missing verified checkmark next to Teigen’s name, which would suggest the screenshots were taken in 2014, before Instagram’s verification program had launched. However, the same screengrab reportedly features purple and blue messages, which is a recent design added by the social media platform last year.

In a statement to E! News, Costello’s rep denied the allegations, stating, “The fact that Chrissy Teigen’s team is desperately trying to prove the DM’s are fake and attempts to discredit Michael Costello, a victim of trauma and bullying by Chrissy Teigen both online and offline, confirms that she remains the same bully, despite her public apology.”

And in yet another statement shared to his now-private Instagram, Michael said he will not be commenting on the drama any further.

McLovin Turns 40! See Seth Rogen's Message to the Iconic Superbad Character

McLovin Turns 40! See Seth Rogen's Message to the Iconic Superbad Character

  • Since the legendary Superbad character, McLovin, would have technically turned 40 on June 3, Seth Rogen posted a special message in his honor. Scroll on to see what the actor had to say.
  • “It doesn’t even have a first name. It just says ‘McLovin!'”

It’s truly hard to believe that it’s been 14 years since we first laid eyes on arguably the most hilarious fake ID to ever hit the big screen.

In 2007, Seth Rogen teamed up with Evan Goldberg and producer Judd Apatow to write the comical and insanely popular coming-of-age-flick, Superbad. And who could forget when Fogell (played by Christopher Mintz-Plasse) got a fake ID in the film that only bore one now-epic surname: McLovin.

Since McLovin’s ID listed his birthday as June 3, it’s only right that Seth tweeted out a very special message to his beloved character. “Happy 40th birthday, McLovin,” he wrote on Twitter. “(We wrote this joke when we were 14 years old).”

Seth and Evan (who named the characters played by Jonah Hill and Michael Cena after themselves) wrote the comedy as a loose adaptation of their own experiences as high school seniors in Vancouver, Canada in the ‘90s.

Not only was the teen movie a monster success at the box office, raking in $170 million worldwide, but it’s remained a high school comedy staple more than a decade after the initial release.

Christopher, who played Fogell, a.k.a McLovin, still regards his now infamous role with adoration. Back in January, the now 31-year-old actor explained to Fox News the impact of playing that character since he still gets approached about it. “I think it’s really… honestly, it’s really sweet when people come up to me and like the movie,” he shared. “I’m grateful for that role.”

However, the Promising Young Woman star also shared that when it comes to talk of a sequel, fans may be disappointed. “I think if that [sequel] were to ever, ever happen, you would need Judd Apatow, you would need Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, Jonah—there’s a lot of moving pieces,” he shared. “And I know at the moment, none of them are interested at all. They kind of want to just let it sit, let it be. So, I trust them with that.”

At least fans have the delight of watching the hysterical comedy (and celebrating McLovin’s birthday, of course) on Netflix.

Blake Lee's Favorite Cruel Summer Scene Has Nothing to Do With His Character

Blake Lee's Favorite Cruel Summer Scene Has Nothing to Do With His Character

  • In an exclusive chat with E! News, Blake Lee opened up about his favorite Cruel Summer scene and his plans for LGBTQ+ Pride month.
  • Watch: Sarah Drew Promises a Satisfying Ending to “Cruel Summer”

    Moved to tears.

That’s how Cruel Summer star Blake Lee, who made history alongside husband Ben Lewis by starring in Lifetime’s first queer Christmas film, The Christmas Setup, felt watching the gay love story unfold on the Freeform hit. For those unfamiliar with the show, the teen thriller offered up a tender moment in episode three when they had closeted teen couple Vince (Allius Barnes) and Ben (Nathaniel Ashton) share a moment at a secret gay bar.

“The producers showed us the clip where they go to the gay bar and they dance together,” Blake told E! News. “And they showed it to us when we were shooting in Texas still and all of us were crying. One, I mean, I think it’s so important for queer characters to be on TV, period. But I think to show characters in the ’90s, in Texas, in a small town, like, that would’ve been so hard to be gay.”

As he continued, Blake applauded his co-stars for doing “such a good job” with the scene. “It’s just such an honest, sweet depiction of these two men that fall in love,” he added. “And it’s really, really beautiful. And I think that the writers did a great job at showing that.”

In fact, as the 37-year-old actor shared with E! News, this scene is one of his favorites in the entire season. Why? Well, he explained, “To see yourself represented I think is the most important thing, and I think that this show is doing a good job at showing an honest, real, gay love story.”

With E! News celebrating LGBTQ+ Pride month throughout June, we made sure to ask Blake how he intends to celebrate. His answer: A safe, outdoor celebration with friends.

“My husband and I have an incredible group of friends and every year we, except last year, have gone to the Pride parade in West Hollywood,” he dished. “We’re such huge fans. We definitely will get together in some sort of outside, safe way. All vaccinated, of course.”
