Martha Stewart Asks "Fake Doctor" Ellen Pompeo for Medical Advice After Rupturing Achilles Tendon

Martha Stewart is recovering after an operation for an achilles tendon rupture, and she's received some well-wishes from her fellow celebrities, including Grey's Anatomy's Ellen Pompeo.

Feel better, Martha Stewart!

The lifestyle expert took to Instagram on June 30 to share a picture of her foot and leg wrapped in medical bandages. “Not the prettiest photo nor the happiest back story,” she wrote. “Bad timing all around. Ruptured my Achilles’ tendon a while ago. Tried to get it to heal on its own to no avail.”

Stewart then informed her 1.4 million followers that she had a three-hour operation, performed by NYU Langone Health’s orthopedic surgeon Dr. John Kennedy in New York, earlier this week to “repair the damage” and that she’s recovering from the procedure. 

“Recuperating at home,” she added. “I have been ordered to lay still with leg elevated for two weeks. After that another two to four weeks of crutches. Then maybe some more normal activity.”

So how exactly did Stewart get injured? “Most such ruptures occur when dancing or playing sports,” the 79-year-old star explained. “Mine was caused by a surprise step into a hole in the dark getting out of the car. Thank you NYU for attempting to make me whole again.”

Stewart, who’s gone viral for her posts on more than one occasion, then took this opportunity to jokingly ask the Grey’s Anatomy actress for some medical advice.

In a just-released Keeping Up With the Kardashians bonus scene from the recently concluded final season, Khloe Kardashian seeks advice from sister Kim Kardashian about using a surrogate to have a second child with Tristan Thompson. Khloe is already mom to three-year-old daughter True Thompson, and while she and Tristan just split again amidst a cheating scandal earlier this week on June 21, Khloe is excited to expand her family with the NBA player prior to the shocking split.

The clip gives more insight into Khloe’s passion for having another child. But first Kim opens up about a number two of her own: one that clogged the toilet, no less. 

“Guys, I don’t know what to do,” Kim says with a laugh. “I went number two in that bathroom and it won’t flush. It’s really embarrassing. I was going to blame it on Kendall [Jenner], I should have done that.”

Khloe then starts a tough conversation about her inability to carry another baby and the stress of finding the right surrogate.

“Dr. A just said it probably wasn’t the best idea for me to carry,” Khloe starts. “What is your opinion on me doing the surrogate?” 

Kim honestly explains her experience with surrogacy for Chicago West. “The first time was so scary,” Kim reveals. “I did a FaceTime first and then I invited them over for dinner with their two kids and Kanye [West] and her husband. I wanted to meet them all face-to-face. I wanted to feel and see if this energy would was going to work for us. She was amazing and her husband was so great.”

Kourtney Kardashian chimes in with her own advice. “I think it depends even what they watch on TV,” she adds. Scott Disick clarifies that Kourtney is referring to media intake “while the baby is in the womb.”

Khloe responds, “I don’t think what you watch has anything to do with it, but I really do believe what you eat because you’re feeding it to your kid.” 

Kim assures Khloe that she will “find the right person,” as well as help sort through applicants.

“It is kind of a weird experience though, I’m not going to lie,” Kourtney counters. 

Kim concludes with one last tip for Khloe: “I think the right thing to do is to have them come see the baby before they leave,” she explains, citing that the birth mother even could send breast milk for the newborn. 

Kourtney gives her final two cents. “It’s, like, bizarre,” the mother of three notes.

This Friday, June 18, thousands of people woke up with a blank email from HBO Max in their inbox. According to the dozens of screenshots shared on Twitter, the subject read “Integration Test Email # 1” while the body of the notified the recipient, “This template is used by integration tests only.”

Though some jumped to the conclusion that they had received a spam email, or worse, a phishing scam, the HBO Max Help account set the record straight on Friday afternoon: “We mistakenly sent out an empty test email to a portion of our HBO Max mailing list this evening. We apologize for the inconvenience, and as the jokes pile in, yes, it was the intern. No, really. And we’re helping them through it.”

Yes, the Internet can be a dark, evil place, but most responses were wildly positive and encouraging of said intern. Numerous people shared their work blunders in an act of solidarity, but one particular person’s tweet stood out: Monica Lewinsky.

Monica is known as the former mistress of President Bill Clinton, who she happened to meet when she was an intern for the White House. Their relationship was just one of the reasons why the President was impeached in 1998, as he famously said that he “did not have sexual relations with that woman, Miss Lewinsky.”

Monica faced much backlash for her involvement in the scandal, but she came away from the experience with a better understanding of the world and how to navigate complicated situations like this. So, she advised the HBO Max intern, “dear intern: it gets better. ps. don’t wear a beret for awhile, k?”

For those confused about the fashion advice, Monica wore a beret in one of the few photos she’s in with President Clinton and she’s always said she regrets choosing that accessory, particularly because women made her into a Halloween costume and those costumes almost always include a beret. 

She also used her previous outfits as a metaphor for that time in her life, writing in 2014, “It’s time to burn the beret and bury the blue dress.” In other words, it’s time to move on.
