Kaitlyn Bristowe Claps Back After Being Accused of Not Wearing Her Engagement Ring

Kaitlyn Bristowe Claps Back After Being Accused of Not Wearing Her Engagement Ring

  • Yes, Kaitlyn Bristowe and Jason Tartick's romance is still rosy. So when a follower thought the former Bachelorette wasn't wearing her engagement ring, Bristowe didn't waste any time clapping back.

Kaitlyn Bristowe and Jason Tartick are doing just fine, thank you very much.

After reading a few concerned comments on Instagram, the former Bachelorette reassured fans their romance is still rosy.

It all started on June 23 when Bristowe headed to the airport and asked her followers to guess where she was going (spoiler alert: It was Hawaii). But some social media users seemed more interested in her relationship status than the destination.

“Hopefully somewhere with your fiancé?” one commenter wrote. “Miss seeing you two together.”

Posting a video of the couple dancing cheek to cheek in the Windy City, Bristowe then replied, “We were literally just in Chicago this weekend so where have you been sista?”

But the inquiries didn’t stop there. When a follower asked why she wasn’t wearing her five-carat oval-shaped diamond engagement ring, the reality star held up her finger with the bling and wrote, “I am ya Turkey.” Another then asked how she deals with all the “annoying” comments.

“One person just asked ‘did you and Jason break up because I heard he moved out and hasn’t been in Nashville until weeks,'” the Dancing With the Stars champ wrote. “Like, don’t they understand they sound like delusional dingalings?”

Bristowe and Tartick started dating in 2019 following her split from her former fiancé Shawn Booth in 2018. The season 11 lead and the former contestant from Becca Kufrin’s season then got engaged in May.

“Choosing your forever is the most important decision in the world, @kaitlynbristowe you made that decision so easy!” Tartick wrote on Instagram after the proposal. “Love you to death and forever.”

  • After a social media user questioned Kaitlyn Bristowe's look, the current co-host of The Bachelorette offered an explanation that caught fans by surprise.

Kaitlyn Bristowe had no time for pretenses during her stint as the Bachelorette, and she’s apparently kept up that same philosophy, six years later.

On Thursday, June 17, the 35-year-old reality TV personality shared a refreshingly forthright response after a Twitter user remarked that something seemed “different” about the star’s look but that the person couldn’t identify what would have changed. Kaitlyn returned to TV this month to join Tayshia Adams as co-hosts of Katie Thurston‘s current season of The Bachelorette

In her reply, Kaitlyn wrote, “6 years since I was on the show, Brow lift, brow micro blading, got my teeth bonded, some filler In my lips, aging, darker hair, and I finally learned how to contour. Oh and I put on some weight [flexed-bicep emoji].”

The message earned plenty of praise from fans who were impressed that the Dancing With the Stars winner, who recently got engaged to fellow Bachelor Nation standout Jason Tartick, was so candid.

One supporter commented, “Don’t forget that you met the love of your life, opened multiple companies, and won DWTS. That joy leaves a mark.” To this, Kaitlyn succinctly wrote back, “Amen.”

In April, Kaitlyn posted to Instagram that she was visiting a plastic surgeon for the first time in order repair her earlobes following years of wearing heavy earrings.

“Everyone seems to think I always go under the knife for surgery, but I haven’t till now,” she captioned a shot of herself at the surgeon’s office back then.

Kaitlyn’s willingness to tell it like it is has helped her successfully lead The Bachelorette as co-host. Earlier this month, she explained to E! News in an exclusive interview that both she and Tayshia were glad to offer Katie guidance as needed.

“I think it was important to both of us to show her that we could relate,” Kaitlyn said. “We’ve been in your shoes, we are here to support you.”

Katilyn Bristowe couldn’t be readier to start a family with fiancé Jason Tartick

The 35-year-old former lead of The Bachelorette visited the Bachelor Happy Hour podcast on Tuesday, June 1, where she told Becca Kufrin and guest co-host Catherine Lowe that she could imagine herself walking down the aisle for two.

“I won’t be surprised if I’m pregnant for the wedding,” Kaitlyn admitted. “I don’t want to be, but that’s how anxious I am.”

Kaitlyn, who revealed the happy couple intends to get married in the summer of 2022, went on to say that seeing Catherine and husband Sean Lowe‘s social media posts of their three children has helped her decide she’d be open to having a bigger family than she initially thought.

“You’ve inspired me to go for three—because I was gonna be happy at one,” shared the co-host of Katie Thurston‘s upcoming Bachelorette season. “But I’m like, ‘I could do three.’ Catherine, you look glowing, rested, you’re podcasting.”

Kaitlyn added that if she’s not already pregnant by the time she and Jason go on their honeymoon, she’ll do everything she can to make it happen during the post-nuptials getaway. The pair, who started dating in early 2019, announced their engagement on May 11.

“I’m telling you, that honeymoon that we go on, I want it to be like the trip of a lifetime,” she said. “Because that’s when I’m gonna be like, ‘All right, let’s do this. Now I’m a mom.'”

Back in September 2020, Kaitlyn told E! News in an exclusive interview that the couple was ready to think babies as soon as she was done with Dancing With the Stars. She was crowned the champion of her season during its finale that aired two months later.

“I’m going into Dancing With the Stars being like, ‘OK, this is my last hurrah,’ because I’m ready to have babies,” she said in September. “I really want to feel like I’m in the best shape of my life, to feel strong and to go into a healthy pregnancy.”

It’s the end of an era.

On Tuesday, June 8, Chris Harrison confirmed he was officially exiting The Bachelor franchise after 19 years of hosting the long-running ABC dating series.

“I’ve had a truly incredible run as host of The Bachelor franchise and now I’m excited to start a new chapter,” he began his Instagram statement. “I’m so grateful to Bachelor Nation for all of the memories we’ve made together. While my two-decade journey is wrapping up, the friendships I’ve made will last a lifetime.”

In addition to Chris’s announcement, Warner Horizon and ABC Entertainment—the companies behind the franchise—released a joint statement that read in part, “We are thankful for his many contributions over the past 20 years and wish him all the best on his new journey.”

The news of the 49-year-old star’s departure comes four months after he revealed he was temporarily “stepping aside” from the long-running show.

Bachelor Nation Reacts to Chris Harrison Controversy

At the time, Chris apologized for the controversial comments he made during an interview with Rachel Lindsay about Bachelor contestant Rachael Kirkconnell‘s problematic past, in which resurfaced photos showed Rachael attending an Antebellum plantation-themed fraternity party.

But despite his short hiatus, it appears the Texas native has decided to officially close this chapter. Keep on scrolling to find out how Bachelor Nation stars are reacting to the news.

Tayshia Adams, Kaitlyn Bristowe & Katie Thurston Proved How Joyful The Bachelorette Can Be

Tayshia Adams, Kaitlyn Bristowe & Katie Thurston Proved How Joyful The Bachelorette Can Be

  • Tayshia and Kaitlyn's presence as the new hosts of The Bachelorette made the whole thing feel like IRL Tinder at a sleepover, but it's unfortunate to remember what it took to get here.
  • A new era for Bachelor Nation has arrived.

We have now officially seen the first premiere in franchise history without Chris Harrison as the host, and we shouldn’t be surprised that it was really wonderful—and “wonderful” is not a word we often associate with anything Bachelor. Kaitlyn Bristowe and Tayshia Adams felt like old friends at a fancy sleepover, helping their single pal Katie Thurston swipe on Tinder IRL. They hyped her up, they offered commentary and they spied through a window with popcorn in hand, offering their opinions on guys with trucks. (They like them, for the record.)

It was so much fun, and it made the show feel more joyful than it has in a long time, if ever. Instead of a dark undercurrent of reality TV machinations, there was fun, laughter—and a sense that maybe everybody is here to have a good time.

Kaitlyn and Tayshia have been contestants and leads before, and they’re currently both in happy, engaged Bachelor Nation relationships. They’re the perfect choice to shepherd a new lead through her own journey to find TV love, and bringing them on feels like a no brainer. It just really sucks to remember how we got here, and that it wasn’t actually a no brainer at all.

Biggest Off-Camera Scandals in Bachelor History

Chris originally stepped down temporarily after screwing up in an interview with Bachelorette alum Rachel Lindsay, who has led the fandom in calling out the franchise’s myriad of bad choices over the past few years. She grilled Chris about contestant Rachael Kirckconnell‘s history of racist actions, like attending an Antebellum-themed party in college in 2018. Chris thought maybe celebrating the Old South was somehow less racist in 2018 than in 2021, and asked that people give Rachael, who went on to win Matt James‘ season, some “grace.”

When Chris was replaced by Emmanuel Acho for the After the Final Rose special, Rachel Lindsay dealt with so much backlash for holding Chris accountable that she had to leave Instagram. Still, the interview was a turning point for the franchise. Kaitlyn and Tayshia were announced as co-hosts for Katie’s season, and then it was reported that a rotating roster of celebrities will helm Bachelor in Paradise. Now, Chris has stepped down permanently, and there’s an opportunity here to turn an aging, antiquated franchise into something fresh, fun—and maybe a little bit modern.

The Bachelorette, Katie Thurston, Tayshia Adams, Kaitlyn BristoweABC

This isn’t even about Chris being a bad host, if you put aside the controversy surrounding him. You could even call him a very good host, in traditional terms. He was simply there, never taking the spotlight, never intentionally being noticed. He announced when it was time for the final rose, and offered platitudes when leads were weighing their options. He didn’t add anything, and that was intentional, but maybe what this show needed all along was a host or two who had something to say.

Chris is also a divorced middle-aged white man who’s never been a contestant or a lead before, and who doesn’t actually know what it feels like to have to date 30 people at once. He’s also never been a person of color on national television, or a woman being slut-shamed on social media, or a virgin navigating a show famous for its Fantasy Suites, and yet, he was the only person there to give on-screen advice. He’s also one man, often dealing with a lead and 20-plus contestants, and he simply couldn’t be in two or more places at once.

Ideally, the franchise could go even further than Tayshia and Kaitlyn. The guys need someone to lean on too, so why not bring in Zac Clark and Jason Tartick, their respective fiancés? Have the couples there to give couples advice together, and then have the men there to help the men, and the women there to help the women. When the lead needs a minute (and we imagine someone in such a stressful position might need a lot of minutes), let the couples take over the spotlight and offer some of the wisdom they must have gained after their time on the show.

A new host doesn’t erase the problems that this show has faced in the past surrounding mental health and support for its BIPOC contestants and lack of representation, but it’s at least a start. Here’s hoping Katie’s premiere was a beacon of more fun and less dark things to come.

The Bachelorette airs Mondays at 8 p.m. on ABC.
