Influencer Oli London Under Fire for Getting 18 Surgeries to Look Like BTS’ Jimin

Influencer Oli London Under Fire for Getting 18 Surgeries to Look Like BTS’ Jimin

  • Social media personality Oli London claimed they now “identify” as Korean and as BTS singer Jimin, sparking accusations of cultural appropriation.

Non-binary influencer Oli London said that they “feel Korean” in a June 28 video after getting a whopping 18 surgeries to make themselves look more like Park Jimin from K-Pop group BTS

“I identify with the Korean community,” they said. “Maybe they will accept me more now because I have ‘the look.’ Maybe people will think I’m actually Korean, which will make me really happy. They can see how much I love their culture. This is the extreme length that I have gone to because I love Korea so much.”

London even mentioned the “Butter” singer.

“I just want to make Jimin proud as well,” the influencer continued. “Jimin is my ultimate idol and I want him to be proud. I’m sure he’ll be proud that I look exactly like him now. I have his eyes. I finally have Jimin’s Korean eyes and they’re so, so beautiful. I’m so, so happy with my new look and I can’t wait to see the final results when all the swelling goes down.”

London also posted a YouTube video on June 26 titled “Being Korean,” in which they described their recent plastic surgeries, which included a facelift, brow lift, temple lift, eye surgery and a teeth procedure. They also said that they are no longer “British,” but “Korean” and identify as “Jimin” as their “Korean name.”

London recalled having identity issues for years, sharing, “I finally had the courage of undergoing my racial transition surgery.”

However, folks on the internet weren’t exactly over-the-moon for London’s “transformation.”

“The fact that they are acting like it’s genuine and that it’s part of a ‘journey’ due to […] ‘identity issues’ really irks me,” a non-binary Korean person said on Twitter. “It’s a mockery of trans people, it’s cultural appropriation.”

“The fact that they took on the name Jimin, most likely without knowing any of the cultural significance behind the name, really makes me ill,” the user continued.

Replies to London’s tweet directly included comments such as: “You are not, nor will you ever be, Korean;” “I’d like to inform [you] Jimin does NOT (not) give a f*ck;” and “Sorry you have to change your body to feel loved and welcome but that doesn’t make you Korean.”

During a 2019 appearance on E!’s Botched, London admitted to spending $250,000 on cosmetic surgery. Doctors Paul Nassif and Terry Dubrow ultimately declined London’s request for a rhinoplasty, citing concern for “extreme” danger.

Britney Spears Testifies That She's Prohibited From Removing Her IUD Under Conservatorship

Britney Spears Testifies That She's Prohibited From Removing Her IUD Under Conservatorship

  • Britney Spears broke her silence in court, sharing that she wants to get married and have another baby. However, she alleged she isn't allowed to remove her birth control under her conservatorship.
  • Watch: Britney Spears’ Bombshells From Conservatorship Hearing

Britney Spears is making her hopes and dreams crystal clear.

The pop star revealed she wants “the real deal,” to get married and have a baby, she said during her public testimony in a court hearing about her conservatorship on Wednesday, June 23.

However, she claimed she isn’t allowed to get pregnant under the legal arrangement, which was put in place in 2008, because her conservators won’t approve her removing her birth control.

“I was told, right now in the conservatorship, I’m not able to get married or have a baby,” Britney told the judge. “I have an [IUD] inside of myself right now so I don’t get pregnant.”

She added, “I deserve to have the same rights as anybody does by having a child, a family, any of those things.”

She has two sons, 15-year-old Sean and 14-year-old Jayden, from her marriage to Kevin Federline from 2004 to 2007. The “Toxic” singer is currently dating fitness expert Sam Asghari, who showed his support for her by posting a selfie while wearing a Free Britney shirt ahead of the court battle.

Her desire to have more kids was just one of the revelations during the hearing, where she made it clear that she does not want her father, Jamie Spears, to control her career as co-conservator of her estate.

In November 2020, Britney’s lawyer Samuel D. Ingham III argued in court that she is afraid of her father and would not perform as long as he was in charge. The judge did not suspend Jamie but added the Bessemer Trust group as a co-conservator.

Earlier this month, The New York Times reported that Britney accused her father of having “too much control” in her life as early as five years ago, citing confidential court records that E! News has not independently verified. A court investigator wrote in 2016, “She articulated she feels the conservatorship has become an oppressive and controlling tool against her.”

Fans have been rallying around the #FreeBritney movement to end her conservatorship, which gained steam after the “Framing Britney Spears” documentary came out this year. Social media users also began decoding her Instagram messages, as she assured fans in April, “Yes, I’m totally fine. I’m extremely happy. I have a beautiful home, beautiful children. I’m taking a break right now, because, um, I’m enjoying myself.”

Per her court hearing on Wednesday, that’s not the case. She said that the conservatorship is abusive, explaining that she wants it to end.

According to Jamie’s attorney, Vivian Thoreen, he’s trying to protect her from exploitation.

“I understand that every story needs a villain, but people have it so wrong here,” Vivian said on Good Morning America in February. “This is a story about a fiercely loving, dedicated and loyal father who rescued his daughter from a life-threatening situation. People were harming her, and they were exploiting her. Jamie saved Britney’s life.”

During the June 23 hearing, Jamie’s attorney read a statement on his behalf: “Mr. Spears is sorry to see his daughter suffering and in so much pain. Mr. Spears loves his daughter and misses her very much.”

Kodak Black Comes Under Fire for His Kobe BryantInspired Helicopter

  • Kodak Black, who recently turned 24, is receiving backlash for his Kobe Bryant-themed birthday party, in which he posed with a purple and gold helicopter.
  • Kodak Black is receiving backlash for his recent birthday celebration.

The rapper, who turned 24 on Friday, June 11, took to Instagram to share behind-the-scenes photos of his party. However, his festivities didn’t sit well with his followers.

Per his images, the “Gleerious” musician appeared to celebrate his birthday with a Kobe Bryant theme. For one, he wore a Los Angeles Lakers jersey with the late athlete’s name and number displayed on the back. Moreover, Kodak posed between a purple and gold Tesla Model X and a matching-colored helicopter.

“I’m Ouchea 24 a Day I’m Like KOBE #KtB @kobebryant #HappyBirthdayKodak Out Now,” the 24-year-old star captioned his post on Monday, June 21.

It didn’t take long for Kodak’s fans to point out the Kobe-inspired helicopter, especially considering the basketball legend tragically died in a helicopter crash, along with his 13-year-old daughter, Gianna “Gigi” Bryant, and several others, in January 2020.

“nahh bro not the helicopter…,” one user wrote, with someone else responding, “No one else think the helicopter is just a little disrespectful.”

Another person replied, “So nobody on ya team advised you not to do the helicopter?”

Although Kodak has yet to publicly comment on the backlash over his Kobe theme, he previously opened up about why he chose to honor the late star for his birthday.

“I want to send all my love to the Bryant family,” he said in a 4-minute video clip that he posted on June 14. “I feel so connected to Kobe’s unfortunate demise. When I was in prison, I was planning on coming home in a helicopter, but [on] January 26, when I found out about what happened, I took it as a sign not to due to the fact that we share the same initials…Today I celebrate your life, your legacy.”

In another clip, Kodak, whose real name is Bill K. Kapri, released purple and gold balloons in the air, writing, “Fly High KOBE. We Love You @kobebryant.”

The rapper isn’t the only one in recent weeks to honor Kobe. Just last weekend, Vanessa Bryant celebrated her late husband with a heartwarming Father’s Day message.

“To the best girl dad. Happy Father’s Day, Papi,” she shared on Sunday, June 20. “We love you forever and always, always and forever. Love you always, Nani, Gigi, B.B, Koko and VB.”

Following Kobe’s untimely death, he’s received numerous accolades and heartfelt tributes. Most recently, he was posthumously inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame in May.

“Congratulations, baby,” Vanessa said in part, accepting the prestigious award on his behalf. “All of your hard work and sacrifices paid off. You once told me, ‘If you are going to bet on someone, bet on yourself.’ I’m glad you bet on yourself, your overachiever. You did it. You’re in the hall of fame now. You’re a true champ. You’re not just an MVP. You’re an all-time great. I’m so proud of you. I love you forever and always.”
