Jennifer Aniston Says She “Didn’t Understand” Matthew Perry’s “SelfTorture” While Filming Friends

Despite starring in Friends for 10 years, Jennifer Aniston admitted that even she learned something new from the reunion show last month.

The Morning Show star, 52, shared one particular revelation from the HBO Max special, which dropped on May 27, that she never knew before.

“I didn’t understand the level of anxiety and self-torture [that] was put on Matthew Perry, if he didn’t get that laugh, and the devastation that he felt,” she told the TODAY show this week.

But Jen added that the situation “makes a lot of sense.”

During the reunion, Matthew revealed that he would sweat and “go into convulsions” on the set of Friends, if the studio audience didn’t laugh at the jokes he delivered as Chandler.

“To me, I felt like I was going to die if they didn’t laugh,” he said. “And it’s not healthy, for sure.”

The Odd Couple actor, 51, confessed, “If I didn’t get the laugh I was supposed to get, I would freak out.”

It seems that was news to much of the cast, as co-star Lisa Kudrow remarked, “You didn’t tell us that then.”

Jennifer dropped some bombs of her own while filming the special. In fact, she revealed that she and David Schwimmer almost hooked up in real life. As David explained, “At some point, we were both crushing hard on each other, but it was like two ships passing because one of us was always in a relationship, and we never crossed that boundary. We respected that.”

Jen noted, “So, we just channeled all of our adoration and love for each other into Ross and Rachel.”

Fans began expressing their doubts that the duo never got together, which led Jen to address those rumors this week on The Howard Stern Show. She shared, “No, I would proudly say I banged Schwimmer if that happened. But no.”

As she told TODAY, “I think there was something about unrequited love and really investing in those [relationships],” explaining, “I think David and I loved each other — we love each other still to this day — so I do think there was something that had to do with that. And you were investing in something that was very relatable: the one that you never could have or the one you wanted to be with but they couldn’t quite get it together.”

As for Lisa, this was her favorite part of the Friends reunion.

Billie Eilish‘s rumored boyfriend, Matthew Tyler Vorce, is apologizing for allegedly using offensive language in numerous resurfaced social media posts.

On Wednesday, June 16, the 29-year-old actor addressed the matter in a statement shared to his Instagram Story. Vorce said he was “ashamed” and “deeply sorry” for his past comments.

“I want to apologize for the things that I wrote on social media in the past,” he wrote. “The language I used was hurtful and irresponsible and I understand how offensive those words are. Whether it was a lyric, a quote, or just me being dumb, it does not matter. I am ashamed and deeply sorry that I used them in any context.”

The apology follows a series of alleged tweets and Facebook posts written by Vorce in 2011 and 2012. Vorce is accused of using the N-word, as well as making offensive statements about the Asian and LGTBQ+ community. E! News has not independently verified the authenticity of the resurfaced posts.

“It is not how I was raised and it is not what I stand for,” the actor also wrote in his apology. “I shouldn’t have used this language in the first place and I won’t use it again. I am so sorry for the hurt I have caused.”

Vorce’s statement concluded, “I take full responsibility and continue to hold myself accountable for my actions.”

The actor was first linked to the Grammy winning singer when the two were photographed together back in April.

Although neither party has publicly commented on their relationship status, the recent sighting was enough to have most fans draw the conclusion of a blossoming romance between the two.

As far as when it comes to the 19-year-old singer herself, she has yet to publicly address Matthew’s comments.

Go Inside Matthew Perry's Newly Sold $21 Million Los Angeles Penthouse

  • It's not exactly the Friends apartment, but the new owner of Matthew Perry's Los Angeles condo has every amenity under the sun after dropping $21.6 million on the property.

After nearly two years on the market, Matthew Perry has sold his Los Angeles penthouse for $21.6 million.

The Friends actor previously listed the abode for $35 million, but, according to The Los Angeles Times, Perry accepted an offer $14 million under the initial asking price. And though it isn’t what Perry wanted, the newspaper notes this is southern California’s priciest condo sale since 2015.

Compared to a “floating palace,” the home occupies the entire 40th floor of the luxury building. While it doesn’t contain a Magna Doodle on the front door, it does have eight bathrooms and four bedrooms. The master suite alone features a fireplace, a seating area and large closets.

According to the Compass listing, the 9,290-square-foot space also includes a high-end kitchen, a “grand” living room with floor-to-ceiling windows and a “plush” screening room. If that’s not enough, the new home owner can also take in the city and ocean views from the penthouse’s four massive terraces. Residents can also enjoy several amenities, including a pool, gym, movie theater and even private wine storage.

Matthew Perry and Molly Hurwitz are calling it quits, E! News confirms.

The 51-year-old Friends alum and 29-year-old literary manager have ended their engagement, seven months after the actor popped the question. The pair started dating in 2018, and they were first spotted publicly in December 2019 at a restaurant in West Hollywood.

“Sometimes things just don’t work out, and this is one of them,” Matthew said in a statement to E! News. “I wish Molly the best.”

Matthew has not yet addressed the breakup on social media, and Molly’s Instagram account is private.

Back in November, the star referred to Molly as “the greatest woman” on Earth when confirming the engagement to People

“I decided to get engaged,” he said at the time. “Luckily, I happened to be dating the greatest woman on the face of the planet at this time.”

The 17 Again actor, who has never married, previously dated Castle Rock star Lizzy Caplan for six years before they ended the relationship in 2012.

In response to remarks from some viewers about Matthew’s appearance at the reunion, Ben Winston, who directed the project, told The Hollywood Reporter‘s TV’s Top Five podcast that he didn’t believe the star was currently dealing with any health problems. Matthew has previously been open about battling substance abuse issues over the years.

“People can sometimes just be unkind,” Ben shared during the May 24 podcast. “I wish they weren’t. I loved working with him. He’s a brilliantly funny man, and I thought he had some great one-liners in the show.”
