On June 21, E! News confirmed that the reality star and basketball pro Tristan Thompson have once again gone their separate ways romantically. As fans can recall, cheating allegations rocked their relationship in 2018 and, following his scandal with Jordyn Woods in 2019, caused them to split. Now, nearly a year since their reconciliation, concerns over his wandering eye have once again driven a wedge between them.

“Khloe is extremely disappointed in how things have played out with Tristan,” a source close to the family told E! News. “She has spent so much time and energy on their relationship and was hopeful for the future. To see that Tristan hasn’t changed at all after all of this is truly heartbreaking.” 

Still, life must go on for the mom to their 3-year-old daughter True Thompson. “She always had trust issues and wasn’t sure, but she wanted to be positive and see the good in him,” the source shared. “She wanted nothing more than for True to have a happy family unit and she plans on still having that regardless of what Tristan does.”

And as evidenced by the recent outpouring of love for the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star on her 37th birthday—even from Tristan—Khloe has no shortage of shoulders to lean on. “Khloe has a huge support system of family and friends who have all rallied around her again,” the source said. “Everyone knows how special Khloe is and that she deserves more.”

As for co-parenting, Khloe and Tristan have that part already figured out. “She is putting on a happy face and focusing on True. She’s an amazing mom and always does what’s best for True,” the source noted. “She will continue to co-parent with Tristan and try to see the good.”

On Monday, June 21, news broke that the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star and her longtime on-and-off boyfriend had yet again called it quits, nearly a year after speculation arose over their reconciliation during the coronavirus pandemic. 

Unfortunately, renewed concern over his fidelity once again drove a wedge between the two and, according to a source close to Khloe, she broke up with him “very recently.”

“They had been working through the cheating rumors for the last couple of weeks, but Khloe told Tristan he lost all of her trust and the relationship could not be repaired,” the source told E! News. “Khloe really tried, but ultimately, felt too betrayed by him. She’s done and says she will not go back.”

Still, they remain in each other’s lives as a result of the daughter they share, 3-year-old True Thompson. “They have been co-parenting and have seen each other several times in the last week with True,” the source noted, “but are not romantically together.”

Since their split in 2019 amid his cheating scandal with Jordyn Woods and following infidelity claims around the time of True’s birth, Khloe has maintained her commitment to keeping things cordial with Tristan for the sake of their child. According to a source, Khloe won’t let this development get in the way of their father-daughter bond. 

“Khloe is very levelheaded when it comes to True and the relationship True has with her dad,” a source close to the situation told E! News, “so she will undoubtedly make every effort to ensure that Tristan and True continue to have the same amounts of time that he’s always had with her.”

“No matter what Khloe and Tristan are going through or the status of their relationship,” the source reiterated, “it has never affected True’s relationship with Tristan or the time she gets with him.”

Still, this split marks a significant change in their dynamic since becoming a full-fledged couple again last year. While they initially raised eyebrows, by October 2020, there was no denying they were back on. When it came time for Tristan’s 30th birthday in March, Khloe very publicly declared her love while referencing their rocky past. 

“The ones that are meant to be are the ones who go through everything that is designed to tear them apart and they come out even stronger than they were before,” she wrote on Instagram at the time. “Thank you for showing me everything you said you would. The duo, who rekindled their romance last fall and share 3-year-old True Thompson, have decided to go their separate ways once again. 

At this time, the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star and NBA player have yet to publicly comment on their breakup. However, news of their split comes hours after reports alleged that the 30-year-old athlete was spotted entering a bedroom with three women at Nessel “Chubbs” Beezer‘s party in Los Angeles’ Bel-Air area on Thursday, June 17. Per an eyewitness, the event was hosted by Drake and held at a mansion.

A source confirms that Tristan attended the party, telling E! News, “Tristan was hanging out with Drake, Diddy and Chris Brown the majority of the night. He was seen hanging out with several girls on the upstairs deck and then went into a private room with three girls. He seemed like he was in a great mood and wanted to party. He was drinking and was partying into the early hours of the morning.”

So what exactly led to the breakdown of Khloe and Tristan’s relationship this time around? A separate insider close to Khloe confirms she broke up with Tristan “very recently” over ongoing speculation surrounding his loyalty.

“They had been working through the cheating rumors for the last couple of weeks, but Khloe told Tristan he lost all of her trust and the relationship could not be repaired,” the insider shares. “Khloe really tried, but ultimately, felt too betrayed by him. She’s done and says she will not go back.”

The source continues, “They have been co-parenting and have seen each other several times in the last week with True, but are not romantically together.”

Earlier this month, a separate source told E! News that tensions were high between the couple after rumors “spread about Tristan being unfaithful.” However, the source explained that the 36-year-old star was still committed to making things work.

Moreover, in May, both Tristan and Khloe sent a cease and desist letter to model Kimberly Alexander after she alleged that he previously fathered her child. Before this made headlines, Tristan had taken a paternity test in January 2020, which concluded he was not the father of Kimberly’s son.

Additionally, Tristan’s legal team filed a complaint for libel against Kimberly. The case is still ongoing. Kimberly did not respond to E! News’ request for comment at the time.

Back in October, Khloe and Tristan decided to give their on-again, off-again relationship another shot. At the time, a source told E! News, “They are together and very happy. She’s very happy that he’s around and that things have been going as well as they have.”

But getting back together was no small feat, per the insider, especially after he was accused of cheating on the Good American co-founder in 2018 when she was pregnant with True, and then again a year later.

“Tristan has bent over backwards to be with her,” the source explained. “He has apologized over and over and swears he is forever changed. She resisted for a long time, but he’s slowly finding his way back in.”

As the insider put things, “Tristan is committed to doing things differently and not messing up. Khloe is hopeful about their future together and has seen a big change in him.”

Since rekindling their romance, the two seemed head over heels for each other and were on track to expand their family.

During the final KUWTK reunion episode on Sunday, June 20, Khloe opened up about her relationship with Tristan and regaining his trust.

“I know the growth and all the work that he’s done, I know all of the help that he’s gotten and the constant efforts that he makes every single day and how hard he fought to get back with me currently,” she said. “I mean, you can ask everyone, it really wasn’t an easy thing for him. I don’t understand why someone would go through all that if they weren’t serious.”
