Camila Cabello Is the Sassiest Cinderella Yet in Amazon Prime’s First Movie Teaser

The first teaser for Cinderella is here, giving us a glimpse at the hilarious chemistry between star Camila Cabello and her Fairy Godmother, Billy Porter.

Camila Cabello is one smart-alecky Cinderella! 

Amazon just dropped the official teaser for Prime Video’s Cinderella, out Sept. 3, and it’s clear the “Señorita” singer is putting her own spin on the classic rags-to-riches story. 

The clip starts with the future princess opening her own fashion shop, Dresses by Ella, as she turns her seamstress dreams into a reality. “This is it,” she says. “Soon, everyone will know my name… Life outside this basement starts right now.” (Fittingly, her sewing machine is emblazoned with the “Singer” company logo).

Viewers get a taste of what’s to come for her when a montage of scenes show her evil stepmother (Idina Menzel) basking in the sun and partygoers dancing at the magnificent ball. 

“I’m gonna be there / I want it / You’re gonna know my name,” Camila sings.

But her version of Cinderella isn’t just an ambitious entrepreneur. She’s also super spunky, which is obvious when she winks at herself and holds up gun fingers while checking out herself in a mirror.

Later in the film, her Fairy Godmother (Billy Porter) appears in a blinged-out golden ensemble, presumably to give her the ultimate makeover. The Pose actor asks, “You wanna go to that ball?” 

Camila sassily responds, “Yes, I was just crying and singing about it, like, two minutes ago.”

Cinderella also stars Nicholas Galitzine as the Prince, Minnie Driver as the Queen and James Corden as a footman. The movie musical is written and directed by Pitch Perfect mastermind Kay Cannon, who promised that a full trailer is coming soon.

Camila gave her own preview on Twitter, writing, “this was one of the most magical experiences of my life. I can’t wait for you to see it.” 

Idina praised the Fifth Harmony alum in another post. “You have to see this!” she tweeted of the movie. “@Camila_Cabello is an absolute star and @theebillyporter the most beautiful fab g. Music rocks. It’s joyous and funny and the stepmother isn’t too bad either.”

Camila Mendes and Charles Melton are officially giving it another go.

The Riverdale co-stars, who broke up in the fall of 2019, are dating once again, a source close to the TV show exclusively tells E! News. 

“The break was nice for them and they reconnected on set of Riverdale,” the source reveals.

How did their makeup come to be? According to the insider, “Being around all of their mutual friends and hanging out together often made them realize they still have a strong connection and chemistry.”

The source adds, “They care a lot about each other and have a bond from filming together for so many hours each day.”  

They’re in no rush to get serious, with the source saying, “It’s going well and they aren’t putting too much stress on the relationship.”

The cast of Riverdale reunited in Canada in the fall to resume filming after the pandemic. At the time, Camila was dating Grayson Vaughan (even kissing him goodbye on the tarmac before taking off).

However, she split with the photographer about four months ago, with a separate source noting that the travel ban did not make their long distance relationship “easy.” The second insider shared, “There was no drama at all, and they are still friends. Their relationship just ran its course.” 

That breakup seems to have made room for a take two with Charles, who plays the Reggie to her Veronica.

Last week, Camila, 26, and Charles, 30, were spotted on a night out with their co-star Cole Sprouse, his brother Dylan Sprouse and model Stella Maxwell. On June 4, the group was seen dining at the French restaurant La Poubelle Bistro in L.A., where Charles had his arm around Cami. The couple left together in his car, clueing fans in to their new romance.

Cami and Charles originally started dating back in 2018, but took a break the next year. At the time, a separate source explained, “Their relationship escalated very quickly and they are taking time now to focus on their work and themselves.”

She later acted in Palm Springs, Dangerous Lies and Day by Day, while he appeared in Bad Boys For Life, Mainstream and, soon, American Horror Stories.

Their busy work schedules put “pressure” on the relationship, with lots of “ups and downs,” per the third insider.

Now, it seems, they’re older, wiser and ready to dive back in.

On Friday, June 4, the co-stars, who broke up in late 2019, were enjoying an outdoor dinner with fellow cast member Cole Sprouse, his twin brother Dylan Sprouse, and model Stella Maxwell at the French restaurant La Poubelle Bistro in Los Angeles. Camila, 26, and Charles, 30, were even twinning in bright yellow tops!

At the end of their meal, Charles was photographed with his arm around Camila as they walked away from the restaurant. An eyewitness told E! News they asked the couple for a photo as they were leaving and then took selfies with each of them. The person added, “Then they took more selfies with my friend who was with me. After that, they left alone together.”

Camila and Charles were then photographed getting inside the actor’s classic car and driving off.

Friday marked the first time the two stars, who play Veronica Lodge and Reggie Mantle on the CW drama, have been photographed in public together since their breakup. However, since their split, they have continued to spend time together along with their co-stars filming Riverdale, and have hung out with the cast members off-set—as seen in pics Lili Reinhart posted on Instagram in early May.
