Alex Rodriguez is celebrating a very special ex—just not his most recent one, Jennifer Lopez

The MLB star, who split from J.Lo in April, took to his Instagram Story on June 12 to share pics of himself hanging out, and working out, with Cynthia Scurtis, who he was married to from 2002 to 2008. The couple share their daughters Natasha, 16, and Ella, 13.

One pic features Cynthia helping Alex out with a knee issue. He captioned the photo, “Cynthia is a world class mommy to our girls…wrapping ice though?!?!?! LOL.”

The pair reunited for Rodrigo Garduño‘s popular Miami-based fitness program 54D. Alex is a longtime fan of the high-intensity group fitness regimen, as are stars like Adriana Lima

It wasn’t just Alex and Cynthia getting their sweat on, however. According to an Instagram post from Alex, he was celebrating the end of a nine-week fitness journey, which included 22 classmates. Cynthia’s husband, Miami-based realtor Angel Nicolas, also joined the exes in completing the intense regimen, as did Alex’s sister Susy, who he said “lost 20 lbs. and looks and feels better than ever.”

While Alex was spending time with his ex, so was Jennifer. Just weeks after announcing that she and A-Rod were over, the “On the Floor” singer reunited with her former fiancé Ben Affleck, who she first split from back in 2004.

The Hustlers star, who was based in Miami when she and Alex were together, is now looking to make the West Coast her new home, a source told E! News, in order to be closer to Ben.

“She will be between L.A. and the Hamptons this summer, but L.A. will be her base,” the source shared. “She is looking at schools for her kids in the fall.”

As for how Alex feels about all this? An insider told E! News, “A-Rod is shocked that J.Lo has moved on. He truly thought they would be able to make it work and reconnect. He has been reaching out to J.Lo trying to meet with her and she has been very short with him.”

Now, it seems that the retired baseball player is staying busy by reconnecting with friends and getting his fitness on.

Get your martinis ready because the ladies of Sex and the City are back in action.

After much waiting, Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis are reunited for the first table read of And Just Like That, aka Sex and the City‘s revival on HBO Max. The Carrie Bradshaw actress shared a photo of the cast, minus Kim Cattrall, as they came together for the production.

“Together again. Read through our first episodes. @justlikethatmax Alongside all the fellas and our newest cast members. Like an ice cream sundae,” she captioned the pic.

The snapshot was a source of much excitement for fans, as evident in Andy Cohen‘s comments. The Watch What Happens Live host literally said, “I just pooped my pants.”

Sarah’s post comes after she found herself in front of Carrie Bradshaw’s former home. The 56-year-old actor took a picture of the stoop, writing, “Pure coincidence AND JUST LIKE THAT, we find ourselves on this street called Perry the night before it all begins again. MPK, here we go. And I’m thrilled and terrified.”

Sex and the City Revival: Everything We Know So Far

It seems to be an exciting time for the Girls Just Want to Have Fun actress. This week, SJP began production on Just Like That and sent her twin daughters off for their final day of 6th grade. As she put it, “Sisters, take the battery out of your alarm clock!”

And just last month, she and husband Matthew Broderick watched their eldest child, James Wilkie Broderick, graduate from high school. According to their 18-year-old son’s social media profile, he will be attending Brown University in the fall, which isn’t too far from his home in the Big Apple.

In other words, all the members of the Broderick-Parker family are embarking on new chapters in their lives.

New music Fridays are a thrilling, yet daunting prospect for any music lover.

    Tinashe feat. Buddy — “Pasadena”

About her first solo release of the year, a high-energy bouncing bop perfect for the summer months, Tinashe told E! News, “I hope this song makes people want to dance! I’m all about bringing good vibes and joy into 2021!” Mission accomplished. Fingers crossed this is the lead single to the fifth studio album we’ve been waiting for.

    Cynthia Erivo — “The Good”

We’re not quite sure how it took the superstar multi-hyphenate this long to release original music of her own, but judging by this lead single off her forthcoming debut album Ch. 1 Vs. 1, the wait was well worth it. The pop-soul production is a dream and Cynthia’s vocal performance is impeccable, per usual. Is it September yet?

BRELAND feat. Keith Urban — “Throw It Back”

The genre-bending up-and-comer reteams with the country legend after their collab on Keith’s 2020 album The Speed of Now Part 1 for this country-trap track that feels tailor-made for your pool party and summer BBQ playlists.

Joy Oladokun — “let it be me”

It feels unfair to single out just one track from the singer-songwriter’s stunning major label debut LP, In Defense of My Own Happiness. The entire album is just that good. But this achingly intimate and engrossing song is a great place to start if you’re looking for a sense of just how special Joy is.

Mykki Blanco feat. Kari Faux — “Summer Fling”

Ahead of the release of their forthcoming mini-album Broken Hearts & Beauty Sleep, Mykki’s released this track that takes inspiration from the early aughts production of Missy Elliott and Timbaland. “I wanted ‘Summer Fling’ to feel like a song I could have heard at my middle school dance, maybe it’s because those were the years in which I was coming of age,” they said in a press release announcing the single. It may be referencing the past, but this one feels so perfectly of the moment. It’s a whole bop.

    Lucky Daye — “Running Blind”

Appearing on the upcoming Liberated / Music For The Movement Vol. 3 EP from ESPN’s The Undefeated, this track from the rising R&B star is a searing and empowering scorcher.

POLO & PAN feat. Channel Tres — “Tunnel”

It may seem like we’re always including a Channel Tres track here at The MixtapE!, but it’s not our fault that the guy is wildly prolific. Here he teams up with French electro-pop duo POLO & PAN for a woozy little wonder that practically demands to be played late-night as you get into whatever after-hours mischief awaits you.

    Kidd Kenn — “Good Day”

One listen to this upbeat track from the queer Chicago hip-hop sensation and it’s easy to see why it was chosen for a sync-up in the Target x NY Pride online ad. “I just wanted to make a track that people heard and instantly felt confident after hearing it,” Kidd said in a press release. “I wanted everyone to have a good day. Working with Target was wonderful, exciting—it was something new. It was a dream that I always wished for.”

    Happy listening!
