UPDATE: On Tuesday, June 29, the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office announced in a press release that a grand jury indicted Lori Vallow on one charge of Conspiracy to Commit First Degree Murder in connection to the death of her late husband, Charles Vallow.

An indictment alleges Lori and her late brother, Alex Cox, had agreed that “at least one of them or another would engage in conduct constituting the offense of First Degree Murder.”

According to the Attorney’s Office, Alex called emergency services on July 11, 2019, saying he shot his brother-in-law in an act of self-defense.

NBC News reported Alex died of natural causes five months later.

The Attorney’s Office has not yet set a date for Lori’s arraignment.

County Attorney Allister Adel said in a statement, “Complex, difficult cases of this nature take time to properly investigate and solve. I appreciate the tremendous number of hours the dedicated officers of the Chandler Police Department have invested, and my office is equally committed to bringing those responsible for Charles Vallow’s death to justice.”

A Fremont County Grand Jury indicted both Lori and Chad on the charges of Conspiracy to Commit First Degree Murder and Grand Theft by Deception for the death of Tylee, First Degree Murder for the death of Tylee, Conspiracy to Commit First Degree Murder and Grand Theft by Deception for the death of JJ and First Degree Murder for the death of JJ.

Additionally, Chad was indicted on the charge of First Degree Murder in the death of his previous wife, Tammy Daybell, whose body was exhumed in December 2019 after authorities began an investigation into JJ and Tylee’s whereabouts when they went missing in September 2019. Lori and Chad were both indicted on the charge of Conspiracy to Commit First Degree Murder in Tammy’s death.

The grand jury also indicted Lori, 47, on one charge of Grand Theft related to Social Security survivor benefits in connection to her deceased children, and indicted Chad, 52, on two counts of Insurance Fraud related to a life insurance policy he received benefits from after Tammy’s death.

The case first garnered national attention in late 2019, when JJ’s paternal grandparents, Larry and Kay Woodcock, reported the children missing to Idaho authorities, prosecutors stated in a May 25 press release.

Months later in February 2020, Chad and Lori were taken into police custody in Hawaii, where they were living after getting married in November. Just two weeks prior to their nuptials, Tammy died in her sleep from what was initially thought to be natural causes.

Kauai police said they arrested Lori on two counts of desertion and nonsupport of dependent children, at which point she was extradited back to Idaho and remained behind bars while awaiting trial.

In June 2020, 7-year-old JJ and 17-year-old Tylee’s remains were discovered buried on Chad’s property.

At the time, Lori was charged with one felony count of conspiracy to destroy, alter or conceal evidence and for misdemeanor charges of resisting or obstructing officers, solicitation to commit a crime and contempt of court. She pleaded not guilty on all counts.

Chad pleaded not guilty to felony destruction, alteration or concealment of evidence and conspiracy to commit those acts.

Madison County Prosecutor Rob Wood said in a statement, “Fremont Prosecutor Lindsey Blake and I believe all three homicides and the related financial crimes were committed as part of a continuing criminal scheme.”

“Local, state and federal law enforcement professionals and local and state prosecutors have worked tirelessly for nearly a year and a half to gather the facts and evidence necessary to bring forward charges on behalf of Tylee, JJ and Tammy,” Blake added. “Due to the ongoing safety restrictions imposed by the courts during the pandemic, we just recently were given permission to present information to the Grand Jury for their review. They deliberated and determined there is probable cause to believe that the Daybells willfully and knowingly conspired to commit several crimes that led to the death of three innocent people.”

According to the press release announcing their indictments, authorities believe the crimes occurred sometime between Oct. 26, 2018 and Jan. 15, 2020. The penalty for the most serious charges range from life in prison without the possibility of parole to the death penalty.

The mysterious circumstances leading up to Lori and Chad’s indictments were explored in the recent NBC Dateline podcast Mommy Doomsday. Read our exclusive interview with host Keith Morrison for his thoughts on the “shocking” case.

E! News reached out to Chad and Lori’s attorneys for comment and has not heard back.

TLC Officially Cuts Ties With the Duggar Family 2 Months After Josh Duggar's Arrest

TLC Officially Cuts Ties With the Duggar Family 2 Months After Josh Duggar's Arrest

  • On June 29, TLC announced its decision to cancel Counting On, the Duggar family's reality TV series that aired for 11 seasons from 2015 to 2020.
  • Watch: TLC Cancels “Counting On” 2 Months After Josh Duggar’s Arrest

TLC is no longer Counting On

On June 29, the network announced its decision to cancel the Duggar family’s reality TV series. Two months ago, on April 29, Josh Duggar was arrested in Arkansas and charged with possession of child pornography. He has pled not guilty

“TLC will not be producing additional seasons of Counting On,” the cable network told E! News in a statement. “TLC feels it is important to give the Duggar family the opportunity to address their situation privately.”

Jeremy Vuolo, who starred on Counting On and is married to Josh’s sister Jinger, said he supports the move in a message shared to Instagram.

“We are grateful for TLC giving us the opportunity to be on their network over the years and their kindness towards the Vuolo family,” Jeremy’s statement read. “It’s been a remarkable journey that has opened doors to traveling and experiencing the world in a way that we wouldn’t have imagined possible.”

He continued, “We wholeheartedly agree with TLC’s decision not to renew Counting On and are excited for the next chapter in our lives.”

Other members of the Duggar family, including patriarch Jim Bob Duggar and wife Michelle Duggar, have yet to comment publicly.

Counting On premiered in 2015 as a spinoff to 19 Kids and Counting, which TLC axed months after a resurfaced police report from 2006 stated that Josh was accused of molesting five underage girls as a teen.

At the time, Josh publicly apologized and said his parents “arranged for me and those affected by my actions to receive counseling.” Josh’s sisters, Jill Duggar and Jessa Duggar, came forward as victims. He was never charged.

Following his April arrest, Josh, who is currently expecting his seventh child with wife Anna Duggar, was released on bail while he awaits trial in November.

During a May 5 hearing, which E! News was present for, federal agents accused Josh of downloading child pornography in 2019, including one file that allegedly depicted the sexual abuse of children whose ages ranged from 18 months to 12 years old.

At the time of his arrest, Josh’s attorney told E! News in a statement, “We intend to defend this case aggressively and thoroughly. In this country, no one can stop prosecutors from charging a crime. But when you’re accused, you can fight back in the courtroom—and that is exactly what Josh intends to do.”

Victoria’s Secret Officially Ends Its Angels Era for Brand Overhaul Led By Priyanka Chopra, Megan Rapinoe

Victoria’s Secret Officially Ends Its Angels Era for Brand Overhaul Led By Priyanka Chopra, Megan Rapinoe

  • Victoria’s Secret is ditching its "Angels" for "The VS Collective," a newly announced group of celebrity activists that will "rally" around important causes and create products for the lingerie label.
  • Watch: It’s Official: Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show Is Cancelled

Don’t call them angels, but Priyanka Chopra and Megan Rapinoe are among the newest faces of Victoria’s Secret.

The embattled lingerie brand, which cancelled its famed fashion show in 2019, unveiled a new roster of stars who will represent Victoria’s Secret under its revamped marketing model. Per The New York Times, the Victoria’s Secret Angels are no more.

In their place, the brand launched two initiatives, dubbed The VS Collective and The Victoria’s Secret Global Fund for Women’s Cancers, on Wednesday, June 16.

The first is described as “an ever-growing group of accomplished women who share a common passion to drive positive change,” per the company’s press release. “Through social, cultural and business relationships, The VS Collective will work to create new associate programs, revolutionary product collections, compelling and inspiring content, and rally support for causes vital to women.”

Inaugural members of the VS Collective are models, activists, athletes and artists from around the world, including Rapinoe, the pink-haired U.S. soccer champ, and Chopra, the Baywatch actress who married Nick Jonas in 2018.

Also joining are South Sudanese-Australian model Adut Akech; Los Angeles-based photographer Amanda de Cadenet; Chinese skier Eileen Gu; British model and body activist Paloma Elsesser; and Brazilian model Valentina Sampaio, who made headlines in 2019 for reportedly becoming Victoria Secret’s first transgender model

“At Victoria’s Secret, we are on an incredible journey to become the world’s leading advocate for women,” said CEO Martin Waters in a statement on June 16. He called the new program “a dramatic shift” for VS, adding, “It’s a shift that we embrace from our core. These new initiatives are just the beginning. We are energized and humbled by the work ahead of us.”

But, as The New York Times claimed, “It is a stark change for a brand that not only long sold lingerie in the guise of male fantasy, but has also been scrutinized heavily in recent years for its owner’s relationship with the sex offender Jeffrey Epstein and revelations about a misogynistic corporate culture that trafficked in sexism, sizeism and ageism.”

In 2020, scandal plagued the mall destination when The New York Times alleged that the company has a history of “misogyny, bullying and harassment, according to interviews with more than 30 current and former executives, employees, contractors and models, as well as court filings and other documents.”

A collective known as the Model Alliance issued a response, saying, “We stand with the courageous women who have come forward and shared their stories, despite fears of retaliation or harm to their careers.” De Cadenet signed the letter at the time, along with Christy Turlington Burns, Amber Valletta and more stars.

The year prior, E! News reported that the womenswear brand was facing numerous financial obstacles, including hefty competition from inclusive brands like Aerie and Savage x Fenty, which may have impacted its declining sales.

The CFO of parent company L Brands, Stuart Burgdoerfer, announced in November 2019 that it was time for the Angels to hang up their bedazzled wings, because the televised fashion show was ending. “We’ll be communicating to customers, but nothing that I would say is similar in magnitude to the fashion show,” he said. “You can be sure we’ll be communicating with customers through lots of vehicles including social media and various, more current platforms, if you will.”

The Men of Sex and the City Are Back: See Who's Officially Returning for the Revival

The Men of Sex and the City Are Back: See Who's Officially Returning for the Revival

  • On Wednesday, June 9, HBO Max confirmed the addition of four Sex and the City alums for the upcoming revival, titled And Just Like That….
  • Watch: “Sex and the City” Reboot: Would Justin Theroux Ever Return?

The Sex and the City revival is rounding out its cast.

On Wednesday, June 9, HBO Max announced that four SATC alums are returning for the revival series, titled And Just Like That. In the recent announcement, the streaming service revealed that the series is welcoming back some of the men important to Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker), Miranda (Cynthia Nixon) and Charlotte (Kristin Davis). For starters, as he previously teased on E! News’ Daily PopDavid Eigenberg will reprise his role of Steve Brady, Miranda’s husband and the father of her son.

And Steve isn’t the only husband returning as Evan Handler will reprise the role of Harry Goldenblatt, Charlotte’s husband and the father of her two daughters. But we can’t say we’re entirely surprised by the addition of David and Evan to the cast. Why?

Well, this casting update comes less than a month after it was revealed that Chris Noth will abso-f–king-lutely be in the Sex and the City reboot. So, we couldn’t help but wonder at the time about the other men.

Still, it’s not just the SATC husbands we can expect in And Just Like That…! Alongside the confirmation that David and Evan are returning, it was confirmed that Mario Cantone and Willie Garson will reprise their roles as couple Anthony Marentino and Stanford Blatch.

This news is worth celebrating over a round of cosmos!

For those who may’ve missed it, the upcoming HBO Max original “follows Carrie, Miranda and Charlotte as they navigate the journey from the complicated reality of life and friendship in their 30s to the even more complicated reality of life and friendship in their 50s,” per the streaming service.

    Who’s In, Who’s Out

When And Just Like That… was announced in January, it was confirmed that Sarah Jessica Parker, Kristin Davis and Cynthia Nixon would be reprising their characters Carrie Bradshaw, Charlotte York Goldenblatt and Miranda Hobbes, respectively. Original series executive producer Michael Patrick King is also returning for SATC‘s next chapter.

Notably M.I.A.? Kim Cattrall, who played the fourth member of their quartet, fan-favorite Samantha Jones. Given that Cattrall has famously feuded with Parker and ruled out a return for a potential third film, it wasn’t too surprising to see her sit this series out, but it did leave fans to wonder if Samantha would be replaced.

“Samantha isn’t part of this story,” Parker confirmed on Instagram. “But she will always be part of us. No matter where we are or what we do.”

And that wasn’t the last time she weighed in on the subject.

“It’s not quite as black and white as that. We’re not looking to create a fourth character,” Parker told a cameraman in January, when asked if the search for a fourth cast member for the new series had begun.

She added, “We have New York City as a fourth character. There’ll be lots of interesting new characters that we’re excited about.”

    What It’s About

Per a press release from HBO Max, And Just Like That…“will follow Carrie, Miranda and Charlotte as they navigate the journey from the complicated reality of life and friendship in their 30s to the even more complicated reality of life and friendship in their 50s.”

And while an official premiere date has yet to be announced, the network noted the “10-episode, half-hour series is scheduled to begin production in New York late spring.”

    Fresh Blood

It seems the ladies will have a new pal when they return sans Samantha as Grey’s Anatomy veteran Sara Ramírez is joining SATC.

Ramírez is set to play Che Diaz, a non-binary, queer stand-up comedian who hosts a podcast on which Carrie Bradshaw is regularly featured. Per HBO Max, “Che is a big presence with a big heart whose outrageous sense of humor and progressive, human overview of gender roles has made them and their podcast very popular.”

King adde, “Everyone at And Just Like That… is beyond thrilled that a dynamically talented actor such as Sara Ramírez has joined the Sex and the City family. Sara is a one-of-a-kind talent, equally at home with comedy and drama—and we feel excited and inspired to create this new character for the show.”

    Mr. Big Is Back!

While there were initially rumblings that Carrie’s main man, played by Chris Noth, would not be reprising his role, HBO Max announced on May 27 that Big would absof–kinglutely be back in the Big Apple

Executive Producer Michael Patrick King commemorated the casting news by noting that he was “thrilled to be working with Chris again,” adding, “How could we ever do a new chapter of the Sex and the City story without our Mr. Big?”

Well, we couldn’t help but wonder…

This news comes three months after Noth suggested that reports of him not returning were inaccurate. At the time, he noted on Instagram, “Everything changes—including announcements in the rags.”

    Aidan Shaw Returns?

Will Carrie’s other fan-fave paramour also be back? Well, it depends who you ask.

John Corbett told Page Six he’s “going to do the show” and that he “might be in quite a few” episodes. While HBO reportedly declined to comment, SJP spoke out, weighing in on the comments section of an Instagram post about Aidan’s possible return.

“I’m not saying one way or another whether our beloved Mr. Corbett’s interview deals in facts or fiction,” she wrote, “but the response is amazing to read…x.”

The Rest of the Guys’ Status

Fret not, fans of Miranda and Steve because David Eisenberg exclusively told E! in March that it’s very likely he will be reprising his role.

“I’m pretty sure. They have called me,” Eisenberg said on Daily Pop. “They’ve been wonderful and I’m very excited to see Miss Cynthia Nixon in her portrayal of Miranda and also their son Brady Brady. We never established whether he was Brady Hobbs or Brady Brady Hobbs or Brady Hobbs Brady. So I’m really hoping to see that we’re all going to be together.”

And, in June 2021 it was confirmed that Eisenberg would be joining the series alongside fellow SATC alums Mario Cantone, Willie Garson and Evan Handler.

Phew! But what about the “Absolute Hunk” himself, Smith Jerrod?

“I have not [been approached], but I would be the last to know!” Jason Lewis told Daily Front Row in May. “As much as I appreciate the flattery, the conversation is about the girls.”
