Social media personality Kate Hudson and fiancé Chance Moore are grieving the loss of their 2-year-old daughter after she passed away on Father’s Day.

Kate, who had included fans on Eliza Adalynn‘s health journey through the viral TikTok account Hey Eliza, posted to Instagram on Monday, June 21 that the child had died the day prior after battling cancer. Eliza was born in August 2018 and had been diagnosed at 10 months of age with a rare form of cancer known as rhabdoid tumor.

“My sweet baby girl,” Kate wrote. “I don’t know how we will go on without you. I know we promised you we would we brave, just like you. But we are broken. Even though we know you are no longer suffering or in pain or frustrated with what life had become.”

She continued, “I thought that because we knew you were dying, that your death would not feel so sudden. But it did. I wasn’t ready to see what I saw. I woke up this morning, still half asleep, and reached for your hand. But you were not there. You left last night.”

A GoFundMe account that Chance created in November 2020 described Eliza as “playful, energetic, sassy, funny, intelligent, joyful, sarcastic, bossy, kind and fascinated with life.”

According to the fundraiser page, she had been given just weeks to live at that point, and Chance wrote that the family felt “blindsided” by the cancer’s rapid progression.

Kate concluded her Instagram post with, “I want to believe I will wake up from this nightmare and you will be there holding our hands. Telling us it was just a bad dream.”

  • A Salt Lake City-based family is mourning the loss of their little girl.

On Friday, June 4, influencer and blogger Terah Belle Jones broke the news to her Instagram followers that 5-year-old Indy Llew Jones had passed away following a battle with cancer.

“Our beautiful girl is free,” she captioned a photo of Indy, who lived with Down syndrome and was diagnosed with cancer in 2018. “She transitioned last night in the blink of an eye, in her mommies arms with daddy right beside her. She opened her big brown eyes and looked directly into mine, as she took her last breath at 11:11. A time of angels & a time for mommy.”

Terah went on to describe Indy’s final hours, writing that she “ate her favorite soup, sipped her coconut water, had us laughing through tears as she told us all the things she wanted to do that day.”

“Indy was in control,” Terah continued. “She left in her own special way. It happened fast. It was peaceful. And it was hard. I am so, so proud of her.”

Just last month, Indy’s story and her love for Moana caught the attention of Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, who sent her a personalized video singing his character Maui’s song “You’re Welcome” from the Disney film.

Terah and her husband, Brian Jones, have shared Indy’s journey with their close to 260,000 Instagram followers. Their eldest daughter was diagnosed with myelodysplastic syndrome, a rare disorder that can progress to leukemia four years ago.

Unfortunately, after Indy’s cancer went into remission twice, her mom confirmed in an April 2021 Instagram post that she had developed leukemia.

In the weeks that followed, the family of four brought Indy home from the hospital and cherished every moment together, including celebrating her fifth birthday.

Terah concluded her post by thanking their followers for “loving our little girl.”

“I have never known this kind of pain but I’ve also never known this kind of triumph,” she wrote. “My Indy Llew has changed the world… Indy Llew, we love you baby girl. So so much.”
